Here's where you find out the meanings of terms used on my website.
- addy n.
- URL, or the address of the page
- adjacent adj.
- near, nearby
- backslash n.
- a character which its uses include seperating folders. i.e. C:\backslash\. Not to be
confused with the slash
- brb slang.
- be right back, a prevalent term used by chatters to tell their friends that they are
going to get a drink, going to the can, etc.
- Dos file name n.
- a file name that may only contain 8 letters and no more.
If the file name has more than 8 letters, it's then made of 6 letters, a console, and a
number. If the file name contains spaces, the space should not be typed. Just ignore it.
Programs usually have 8 letter file names or less
e.g. dosname is valid, dosfilename should be changed to dosfil~1, and dos file name should
be changed to dosfil~1.
- ffa n.
- Free For All. Meaning every person for themself
- file name n.
- a name for a file. Dos file names have 8 or less
letters. Windows 95 file names can have 36 letters!
- g2g slang.
- got to go, another commonly used term to tell friends that (they had fun playing AOE),
but they have to go (do homework and such)
- RAM n.
- Random Access Memory. This is what your program uses to run itself. It finds a block of
open RAM and then runs it to there.
- slash n.
- character which is commonly used in the World Wide Web and HTML. Not to be confused with
the backslash
- ttfn slang.
- ta ta for now, used by Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. Winnie the Pooh was named after a
bear A.A. Milne and his son, Christopher Robin, met in Winnipeg, Manitoba...yadda, yadda,
yadda.
- ttyl slang.
- talk to you later, same as got to go, but this time, they might not have some other
thing to do on their computer, but they don't want to talk to you now.
