| The Persians are a good race to play with except for the fact that they have a -30% farming. However if you are determined, you can actually use this civ. quite well! I was trying them out the other day and realized that they're actually pretty good. Their +30% hunting means that you can bronze quicker since you can get food faster. The main defense you should have when you bronze is a whole bunch of Broad Swordsmen. They can cut through chariots like a knife through butter. So make sure you use them. The real hidden power that the Persians have is their elephants. Their elephants walk 50% faster meaning that they have the speed of medium speed units. This is useful since you will now be able to keep up with villiagers when you are destroying your enemy's town. It also helps if you are trying to help out your ally. You can get there a lot faster. If you are playing a water based map, you should take advantage of the Persian's +50% Trireme firing rate. The basic strategy for the Persians is to attack when you iron, not when you bronze. You should attack with Heavy Cavs to weaken enemy then send in Long Swordsmen. If that doesn't finish the job, send in the elephants and cats! This is how you use the Persians. Next time you play a game, give the Persians a shot. You might get unexpected results like I did. |
