| Martina's Fruit Smoothie Recipe -1 banana -A few strawberries -toss in some blueberries if you have them -a carton of yogurt (your favorite flavor) -some orange juice (I'm not sure how much...I just pour some in!) "Blend in the blender. Like I said, it's not exactly science, but adapt as you wish! If it's horrible, you did something wrong!" "This is the fruit smoothie I made on the bus. It is not a formal recipe and therefore I am a little hesitant to put it in this newsletter. It is not foolproof as I've only made it a couple of times. | Speedy's Parody's "Where's My Car?" (sung to the tune of "There You Are") A very lucky (but also very forgetful) young lady was given a brand new Chevy Camaro for her 21st birthday. After celebrating her birthday with some friends at the local bar for several hours, she decided it was finally time to go home, but was unable to find her beloved new car anywhere. In her grief and sorrow, she sang this song as she sadly walked home in the rain: (Verse 1) Where's my car? Hey, it's not where it should be. Where's my car? Thought I parked it by this tree. I'm so sad, and I'm feeling really bad, 'cuz it was a gift for me. (Chorus) Every time I turn around, I just hope it can be found When I walk out of a bar. Where's my car? Martina Christmas Wish List Dear Santa: Because of the wonderful presents you've given me over the years, it seems like you've always known exactly what I wanted, and you obviously have excellent taste. And since you have excellent taste, I know that you also must be a big fan of Martina McBride, so I know you must be reading this! It's been quite a while since you last heard from me, so how 'bout granting Wisconsin's #1 Martinaholic a few Martina Christmas wishes?...... A LIVE Martina Concert CD - Without a doubt, there is nobody in the universe who sounds as good LIVE as Martina does. With Martina's ever-growing popularity, and her current status as the reigning "Queen Of Country Music", I'm sure a LIVE concert CD would quickly reach platinum-record status. A LIVE Martina Concert on DVD/VHS - Like the live concert CD, I think that a concert on DVD or VHS is long overdue. I think that last year's Pay Per View concert would be an excellent choice for an officially-released concert on DVD/VHS. My 2nd choice would be to release one of The Joy Of Christmas shows, but since there are plans for another Xmas tour next year, I can understand why chances are slim. A Martina Calendar - Faith has her own calendar....Shania has her own calendar....Mindy McCready has her own calendar........but Martina has to "share" a calendar with other country artists. Martina deserves to have her OWN calendar!!!! A Martina Necktie - Using iron-on forms in my laser printer, I'm about to try to make my own Martina necktie. I don't think it'll turn out as good as an "official" necktie, though. A Martina License Plate Holder - Like a Martina bumper sticker I have, I would want the license plate holder to say "Martina McBride ROCKS My World!". A Martina Telephone - My mother-in-law has an Elvis phone with an Elvis figure that moves and sings "Hound Dog" whenever someone calls. I'd like a Martina telephone that sings the first verse of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow", or the chorus of "Blessed" or "Independence Day" whenever someone calls. I’ve got “Two More Bottles of Wine” but “You’ve Been Driving All the Time” so now you’re “Beyond the Blue”, living with “Wild Angels”, and wearing “A Great Disguise”. So “Phones Are Ringin’ All Over Town” looking for you. Come on back, through those “Swingin’ Doors”, “Where You’ll Be Safe In the Arms of Love”. Because I was “Born to Give My Love to You” and all I can think about is “All the Things We’ve Never Done.” Evolution Fine, “Be That Way”! You won’t give me “A Broken Wing” cause I’m a “Happy Girl” no matter what! No, you’re “Wrong Again”. You may think “I’m Little But I’m Loud”. So I’m “Keeping My Distance”, even if you’re “Still Holding On,” cause “I Don’t Want to See You Again”! “Some Say I’m Running,” but “Whatever You Say” “I Won’t Close My Eyes”. “One Day You Will” be “Here In My Heart,” you silly “Valentine.” White Christmas “Do You Hear What I Hear?” It’s “The Christmas Song”! | Martina's Corn Corn Bread Recipe -1/2 cup all-purpose flour -1 1/4 cup yellow cornmeal -3/4 cup granulated sugar -1/2 teaspoon baking powder -1/2 teaspoon baking soda -1/2 teaspoon salt -2 large eggs -1/2 cup vegetable oil -1/2 cup milk -1/2 cup buttermilk -1 cup fresh or frozen corn, cooked Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9"x 5"x 3" loaf pan and dust with cornmeal. In a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together eggs, oil, milk, and buttermilk in a medium bowl. Add egg mixture to dry ingredients, stirring until just moistened. Fold corn into batter. Poured into prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and continue baking until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 30-45 additional minutes. Cool on a wire rack for 30 minutes before removing from pan.
