Stem Cell Research

Most individuals today have very little regard for human life. We have even less regard for those individuals that we don’t know, don’t look like us, talk like us, etc. This is why we can look at the news and witness horrible acts of violence against a human life and not become the least bit concerned. Unless we can identity with the victim, on a personal level, we rarely even listen to the full new story. This is one of the reasons we find it easy to abort unwanted babies. We don’t know them, and they don’t look like us so we find solace in taking their precious unborn life. You see, life begins at conception, and the fact that the embryo has not fully developed into someone we can relate to, does not lessen his or her importance or significance. Contrary to what many believe, the embryo is the beginning of a life. We can debate this indisputable fact, but in God’s omniscient eye’s, a fetus is just as much a human being as the person reading this article. As the horrors of abortion are fading from the average person’s conscience, a new fruit of abortion is ripening. Stem cell research is its name.

In stem cell research, the embryo (a life) is created in a lab and then destroyed, purposely, with the intent of making scientific and medical advancements. While stem cell research may lead to cures for certain diseases, it is murder in the first degree to an unborn fetus. It may not appear to be murder, but when you understand that life begins at conception, and not in the delivery room, destroying embryos, for any purpose, is cold-blooded murder.

How far will we willing to go in the name of science? How far are we willing to go to save our own lives at the cost of another?  Where will it end? Who is to say that the day will not come when scientist, with government approval, will be able to remove organs from a healthy, living person, without his permission, rendering him useless, for the sake of science? At this rate, anything is bound to happen.
