From the city police force in Toronto, Canada to 1-900 numbers all across America, psychics have made an incredible impact upon our society at large.  Once on the outskirts of the mainstream, psychics are now seen everyday all day on television commercials, bargaining for people to call and experience help from "trained and certified psychics".  But just what kind of help is it that they offer? 

These psychics claim that they have a gift of "seeing" or "intuition" which enables them to know what will happen in an individual's life before it takes place, thereby enabling them to provide "help" to people that seek direction.   From just minor information given by the customer, they claim to give direction in matters of family, friends and business, etc.  However, this is not new by a long shot.  This is simply the old divinatory practice spoken of in many places in the Bible as "divination" and "soothsaying", practiced by those with a "familiar spirit", something which God has commanded His people from the very beginning not to practice nor to get involved with.  In Lev.19:31 the Lord tells Israel to "Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God". 

One of the reasons why we as christians should be informed about this is the stealth-like activities of Satan surrounding the rise of psychics today.  Many americans think that this rise of psychics is only for material gain and monetary purposes.  Of course, that is a part of it; these psychics do want your money, that is definitly obvious from Scripture as well.  Acts 16:16 informs us of "a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying".  But is money the only thing they want?  

No way.

Money is only part of it.  The main goal of these psychics is the destruction of the doctrine of biblical Christianity.  They really don't mind the Christian church being around, just so long as they don't stay biblical and teach Jesus as the Son of God who died for the sins of mankind, ressurected and is the only way of salvation.  One of the foremost spiritualists/psychics of this century, Alice Bailey, who was controlled by a spirit called "Djwhal Khul"(no doubt a demonic spirit), wrote something very significant about psychics and their rise in these days.  In her book "Externalisation of the Hierarchy(1957)" which was written while she was under this spirit's control she mentions "Great Ones", which are supposedly loving spirit beings who are above the physical realm, and only want the best for mankind(which are no doubt demons as well).  In this book she reveals that "what the Great Ones seek to break is not the form of Christianity but the grip of the Churches on the minds of the masses. The old forms of thought and of interpretation are now too restricted and too tightening...what is required is the re-vivification of the old forms, and their infusion with fresh life...Thus we shall find emerging in the world a large body of trained psychics..." pg.15,502 

So from the mouth of one their own, we see the real purpose of the rise of psychic activity, which is none other than to destroy the church from teaching the true doctrine of Jesus as revealed in the Scriptures.  But notice, only the influence of the church and the form of its teaching and interpretation is what they don't want, but not the form of its appearance; the form of its appearance is ok.  Maybe this is what Paul meant about in the last days about those who would have "a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof". IITim.3:5  Truly we as christians should not only claim to follow Christ, but actually follow Him with His power being able to be seen in our lives.   May we as christians stand against this rise of evil, and expose these psychics for what they really are: those possessed by Satan attempting to provide another way of salvation and direction for man, rather than the true Way and the true Life, Jesus Christ.   St.Jn.14:6

1.)Teaches that man is not divine, only human and sinful, in need of a Saviour.

Jer.17:9- The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

2.)Claim that the divinatory practice they perform is approved  and accepted by God.

 2.)Teaches that these divinatory practices(predicting the future) is not approved or accepted by God.

Gal.5:19 -Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these...witchcraft...
3.)Claim that man should seek their psychic capabilities.

 3.)Teaches that man should not seek these things, but that man should seek Jesus Christ and his righteousness.

Lev.19:31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

Deut.18:10 -There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
