Deep Thoughts...

And on that note, I have a theory about the introduction of Luna Lovegood into the storyline.  I think she is more important in the outcome of the series than she would at first appear.  After all, she is a member of Dumbledore's Army and she fights the Death Eaters with Harry and his friends in the fifth book.  There is no apparent reason why she would want to fight the Death Eaters, besides some noble good will on her part.  She's in Ravenclaw, a house which generally does not denote bravery or nobility, but rather intelligence and cunning.  The fact that she is not afraid to be herself and ignores the insults and humiliations laid at her door is also very telling, and perhaps why Harry connects with her at the end of the fifth book.  I personally think some sort of relationship could develop between herself and Harry, but only time will tell.

As for Ron and Hermione, I think it's fairly obvious that they have a much deeper relationship than they yet realize or will acknowledge.  That's alright; I quite enjoy the tensions between them.  It almost makes the pages themselves crackle and spark.

I admired Neville from the very beginning, because of his selfless devotion to his friends and causes in which he believes.  I hope in the next book he is given the opportunity to prove his worthiness to his family members; his fellow Gryffindors already seem to appreciate his abilities

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: Movie

I liked this movie.  I think the darker, gritier atmosphere makes it more realistic, and is also in keeping with J.K. Rowling's plot development.  But, I thought that there was a lot left out that needed to be in there.  Anyone who hadn't read the book was definitely in trouble in terms of understanding the plot.

Editorial: the whims of webmastery

I find designing a website and posting content that no one is going to read quite rewarding.  Now, you might consider this claim unfounded, given the fact that I have actually endeavored to create a visually appealing and completely personalized web page.  The very fact that I have not attempted to create the single largest repository in the world of Harry Potter information, links, quotations, and other miscellany should be the first indication of my intentions.  In these hallowed lines of code (provided by Yahoo Page Builder, I might add)  you will not find the sort of dedication virtually seething from other websites.  I do not care whether or not I have any news and/or gossip to report.  I do not care about hitcount.  I do not care whether or not I have sponsors, partners, or affiliates, nor am I going to exclude those who would like to link to my website simply because they use free webhosting (e.g., Yahoo); I applaud those larger sites that allow we small-time webmasters to affiliate with them.  I do not have a button to link to my site, because I don't know how to make them.  I do not care if my lack of PHP and Javascript encoding and riotous color scheme sends my visitors into paroxyms of terror, confusion, and/or temporary blindness.   I do not care because my fellow HP webmasters are taking care of business for me.  They deserve all the galleons in Gringotts for their hard work.  But I prefer to let them do it.  My viewpoint is this: when all of one's free time is dedicated to maintaining a website, one might want to reevaluate one's priorities in life.  Don't forget to experience sunshine, and trees, and grass, and your fellow human beings, whom can tell you so much more about life than some random post on an HP message board.
