This is the patch of 6. Division since 1983. The 6. Division was established as 6. Brigade in 1911, but became 6. Division in 1916. In the Spring of 1940 6. Division with French and Polish forces beat the German Wehrmacht in the Narvik-area. In 1960 6. Division and Brig N merged, and changed name to Troms Landforsvar. They separated again in 1971, and was named 6. Division/Troms Landforsvar until 1996, since when is is called 6. Division only.

The patch came in 1983, and is the patch of Møre Regiment (MR). MR  was established 1 August 1995, mainly made up by the former Møre Forsvarsdistrikt/Infanteriregiment nr 11 (FDI 11/IR 11). MR is a territorial regiment.

This patch came in 1983, and is the patch of 12 Brigade (Brig 12). Brig 12 is also known as "Trønderbrigaden". The brigade was 5 Brigade before the 2nd World War, and was re-established as Kombinert regiment nr 12 (KR 12) after the war. It was renamed 12 Brigade in 1980.

The patch was made in 1983, and is the patch of Sør-Trøndelag Regiment (STR). STR was established 1 August 1995, made up mainly by the former Sør-Trøndelag Forsvarsdistrikt nr 12/Infanteriregiment nr 12 (FDI 12/IR 12), with a history which dates back to1629 with different names. STR is a territorial  regiment.
