A few pictures of Antigua, Guatemala

In May 2003 we spent a weekend in Antigua, Guatemala, a pretty town. Here are a few pictures.

The town has had a bit of a rough history, what with earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and the like. (Some might argue that a capital city shouldn't be located right in the midst of three volcanoes, but then hindsight is always 20-20.) Furthermmore, the place is just plain old. Hence, a lot of the buildings look like this.

The fountain in the central square.
