"My Story.." |
I was born in the summer of 1970. For as long as I can remember I have always been heavy. I suffered all the usual garbage that over weight kids go through at school. I attended the Cincinnati School for the Creative and Performing Arts where I studied Visual Art, Theatrical Production, Drama, and had interest in music. Today I still consider myself a student of many arts. Once out of school I studied the Graphic Arts and worked at a major local printing company in quality control. Almost a year to the day when I statrted my position was eliminated so I worked different jobs for the next several years taking me to Williamsport PA, Pittsburg PA, Philadelphia PA, Tampa FL, and Clearwater FL. Finally I decided to settle in Cincinnati Ohio. Along the way I was a Labor Union Offiicer in two seperate Unions. I also worked as a restaurant manager and a program director for the City of Cincinnati. Currently I am keeping my love for the arts alive by writing, playing music, doing photography, and many other odds and ends. Over those ten years I was not oblivious to that fact that I was gaining weight. I knew it was unhealthy and I did try to do something about it. I tried one to two diet programs a year but the same thing would happen each time. I would loose weight then, I would stop loosing, then even if I stuck with the diet I would start to put it back on and more. One of my doctors said that once my body learned all of the "New Rules" it would go back to "Business as Usual". In taking these first new steps toward a new life I am happy to have the support of my friends and family. Currently I am working as a communications worker while taking classes. I look forward to starting a new career and eventually starting my own business or at least becoming my own boss. I have always wondered what my life would be like after I lost the weight. I hope that it would put an end to my health problems. I am lossing weight and my health is improving. I still have a long way to go. As I move forward I will be sharing "the good, the bad and the ugly" if you will excuse a bad play on words. Before you know where I am going why not take a look at where I have been. |
