Chapter #4 death by substitution
(The following chapter is really neither an orange or apple... it constitutes the fruits of a few of my recent random thoughts put into digitized media.)
I once heard a wise old man say, "If you can't confound them with the facts, baffle them with bull shit.". Although it's considered less than honorable by many and despicable by me, it is a good tactic for those of us who are without a conscience. The following are examples of commonly accepted sayings, beatitudes, expressions, institutions, and human philosophies which convey ideals that are either completely contradictory to fact or ask the wrong questions, leading people to wrong conclusions. Here's an easy example: "Do you still beat your wife?" the question implies something that isn't established as a fact. I could describe it as "starting off on the wrong foot" so to speak, some of these are blatant and others aren't. However it is things such as these (combined with public schools and numerous other follies of mankind) that now have American society baffled about the most simple of concepts.
(Sayings/expressions)
1. "Money doesn't grow on trees." Perhaps when this saying was first invented it was true, money usually consisted of gold and silver coin. However it is now outdated as money is now usually made from paper and or plastic. Thanks to our modern inventions money now really does grow as trees.
2. "Making love." most people know that this _expression means "having sex"{which should be called "doing sex"} However love and sex have never even had the same relatives. Although many people like to associate one with the other, this is just not so. I love many people whom I haven't ever had sex with, in fact I can say with certainty that I never will. Sex requires little more than a little blood circulation in the right organs and opportunity. Perhaps it is possible to "make love" much like one can make a cake.. But the recipe for love doesn't call for genitalia. The constitution for true love is found in the bible (quote bible verses)
(Institutions)
1. Government is an institution, which throughout history and the present world has and does seek to replace God with itself. This is the driving force behind all forms of socialism (capitalism, socialism, and communism). The only flaws I can see with this usurpation are that no government is God, or can be, all government is flawed and corrupt (God is incorruptible) God is all powerful, all knowing, omnipresent, is just, loving and merciful. Government is slightly powerful over some things, knows little about a lot and in fact frequently suppresses knowledge, is not even remotely omnipresent, is incapable of love, and frequently deals injustice to many. The whole problem with government is the more it seeks to endow itself with these God like qualities the more oppressive and blood thirsty it becomes. Since God is incorruptible, his power only leads to a non-corrupt end, since government is corrupt the more powerful it becomes the more it leads to a corrupt end. Thus government can only become less like god as it gains power.
( Human philosophy)
1. "In my reality......" I have heard many incredibly ludicrous statements beginning with those three words. In my entire life, I never thought I would hear something so pathetic come out of the mouth of a sane individual. I find these thoughts to be so scatological I am even hesitant to state a rebuttal out of paranoia that perhaps these people are merely playing the devil's advocate. However, I have heard it more and more often...
