I’m pretty convinced now
that mum and dad think I’m a doll. They love to dress me up and take
photos. The first fancy dress competition I went into was at the Qld
Amstaff Club’s first fun day in October 2000. Mum went out of her
way and got me fitted out for a highland warrior outfit – kilt, sword,
shield and all. What a freak she is – but who cares coz I looked
pretty darn handsome and best of all I won! As if that wasn’t enough
I then got entered into another fancy dress competition at the Qld Lure
Coursing Association’s Fun Day in December 2001 where dad dressed me up as
a scaffolder, with his scaffolding shirt, his footy shorts and tool belt.
Man that belt was heavy but I didn’t complain coz I looked pretty cool.
I didn’t win that competition but after that I was featured on Williams
Scaffolding calendars for 2002. The guys at dad’s work now call me
the ‘scaffy’.
