Where did the name
‘Jormungand’ come from?
Jormungand, in Germanic mythology, was the serpent son of
Loki, god of fire, and the frost giantess Angraboda, and brother of Fenrir and
Hel. Odin arranged for these monstrous
children to be kidnapped and brought to Asgard. He then threw Jormungand into the ocean, where he grew so long
that he encircled the earth, and was known as the Midgard Serpent. At Ragnarok Jormungand was to come on to the
earth and be slain by Thor. So there
you have it that’s where my registered name came from but my pet name ‘Jarl’
has a slightly different story.

Where did my name ‘Jarl’ come from?
Personality:
valiant; noble. Category: human.
Brought
up as a son of wealthy parents; Jarl grew handsome and strong. When out hunting
one day, was met by the god Heimdall who claimed him as his son and taught him
the runes and their meanings, he told him some of the secrets of the gods so he
became especially wise. Heimdall said he had a right to win lands and rule men
and this is what he did; his descendants were the class of nobles.
Where did my nickname ‘Lord Cardigan’
come from?
Well I
must admit I’m mum’s boy through and through, I’m soft and gentle and kind of
lazy and mum pampered me dearly when I was young carrying me a lot like her
baby and making sure I was always cuddled and kept warm and cozy. Then friends of hers started calling me Lord
Cardigan always asking mum where my cardigan was in case I got cold as a bit of
a joke and the name has stuck with me ever since. I don’t mind coz Lord kind of fits the background of my name
‘Jarl’ being so noble and all. Mum and
Dad reckon my placid nature is a nice balance to the fiery girls of the house
Xena and Fionn so I fit in quite nicely. And now that I do have a cardigan for winter it will give people all the
more to talk about.
