The design goal was to bring together the three disparate office wings as a coherent law office. This was achieved by establishing a central public area consisting of the elevator lobby, reception area and conference rooms, where rich, warm stone and wood finishes are used. Carefully chosen colors throughout, and the selective use of standard wood trim achieve an appropriately restrained elegance within a limited budget. Because of the building's low ceilings, the architects were challenged to design air-conditioning and lighting systems that would not compress the feeling of spaciousness. Stepping off the elevator into a bright, cove ceilinged lobby, the visitor has a vista of the expansive elegance that belies the actual size and cost of the renovation.
