Anarchy
In common usage, anarchy means disorder, rebellion, civil war, etc. When I use the word, I mean the absence of government. There can only be an absence of government, when all governments' monopolies on the use of violence are generally rejected. Anarchy, like government, exists in the minds of the people. Many third world nations set up democracies when they rid themselves of colonial rule. These democracies often fell to military dictatorships because the idea of democracy was not in minds of the people. As Patrick Buchanan expressed it, "One man, one vote, one time."
Capitalistic economy
A term that is generally used to mean whatever the American economic system happens to be at the time, see fascist economy. Among conservatives, capitalism means an economic system with fewer regulations than apply at the time when they are speaking.
Communistic economy
An economy in which the state owns and controls most economic enterprises.
Economic anarchy
An economy without governmental controls or regulations.
Fascist economy
An economy that permits private ownership of enterprises but controls important segments of the economy for the good of the people (the people is defined by the state). It promotes the idea that labor, big business, and government should form a partnership for the good of the people. Fasces means a bundle of sticks. The idea is that a bundle of sticks (labor, capital, and government) is harder to break than a single stick. For an example of a fasces see the back of an old Mercury dime.
Freedom
A meaningless concept that is often used in arguments.
Government
The organization that has a generally accepted monopoly on the use of violence in a certain geographical area. Governments not only use violence to achieve all their ends; they also dictate who can use violence and under what conditions they may do so. For instance, a person may use violence for self defense only under the conditions set forth by law. By "generally accepted," I mean that virtually everyone grants government the authority to use violence and say how it may or may not be used. Even the criminal accepts government's monopoly on violence. Almost everyone finds fault with some aspects of governmental practice, but virtually no one challenges government's general right to decide how violence will be used in the society.
Hate crime
A crime against a member of a Democratic Party constituency. Nazis made it illegal to be a Jew and Communists made it illegal to own too much property. Now democracies are making it illegal to think certain thoughts. The thinking of these forbidden thoughts is now punishable by additional jail time. I can't remember any totalitarian regime that made the simple thinking of a thought punishable. Even those governments pretended that they were jailing people for something more tangible.
Hate speech (Hate site)
Saying, publishing, or promoting on the internet thoughts that are considered anathema to Liberals. I hate government. This is a hate site.
Liberals
In America, liberals are always calling for more government power and spending. If American conservatives worship dead liberals, living liberals think dead lead liberals were reactionaries.
Limited government
The kind of governement that everyone wants but no two people can agree on. Everyone believes that government should do only what he wants it to do and not do what he doesn't want it to do. Everyone believes in limited government, i.e. "Government should be limited to doing only what I want it to do." Reform Increasing the power and cost of government.
Right
In America, the Right includes anyone who opposes the American Left. This group includes conservatives, libertarians, fascists, monarchists, theocrats, KKKers, etc.
Rights
A word used to give a demand for government money a sense of bogus respectability. For instance, "Everyone has a right to education" is a demand for money to pay for teachers, books, etc. In theory, the right to life and property are the most fundamental rights that the state guarantees. In fact, they are merely veiled demands for government financed police and protection services.
The two party system
A means by which those who run the government give citizens the illusion of choice. In 1995, the new Republican majority in Congress proposed that government grow by 3%; the democratic opposition proposed that it grow by 5%. The fierce debate covered the political spectrum from dark pink to light red.
Totalitarianism
The political theory that there is no question that is too insignificant for the state to decide by the use of violence. As an example, if you tried to manufacture and sell cigarette lighters without certain childproofing features, you would be fined heavily. If you refused to pay the fines, you would be jailed. If you resisted the jailing, you would be shot.
War
A contest in which two or more groups of people vie for the control of government. If a war is confusing enough, the resulting situation is frequently refered to as anarchy.
