Thoughtcrime was started in the end of 2000 by Paul who was keen to start a punk band with a heavier sound . He soon hooked up with guitarist Jaie and decided to ask Cohen a friend of his and member of the band Tenfold to play guitar and he agreed . Now all they needed was a singer and drummer and after about 1 month of stuffing around Paul heard that Kamikaze Harry had just kicked out vocalist Eamon whom Paul had been a fan of his vocals .So after a show they asked him to sing and he said he was keen to give it a go . After this Paul lost contact with Jaie and asked two of his friends to join on drums and guitar . This lineup didn’t work and after two practices we decided they didn’t fit the band . Then Paul received a call from Eamon to see if he was still keen so they found a drummer which was Val . Practice number one went great with the band writing the songs Soapbox and Thoughtcrime but Val had no time with Kamikaze Harry and the HSC taking up his time . We then found guitarist Luke a friend of Eamons and then a while later drummer Scott who played drums in Eamons other band Brittany . It was the end of Febuary 2001 and Thoughtcrime was complete . After several practices they played their first gigs in the first week of April with great responses(except at Albion Park cause it sucked) .They are doing more shows and writing better songs and will hopefully be around for a long time . |
