the barber cuts every persons hair that does not cut their own hair, correct? then who cuts the barber's hair? kinda nerdy, but i learned how to prove the infinity of the set of natural numbers is less than the infinity of real numbers between 0 and 1. its pretty cool. been playing free trial of world of warcraft. its very good on the whole. the story is cool, and the environment (music, themes of areas, colors, architecture, etc) blows my mind. i think these are two elements that are lacking from guild wars. the other thing it does better than guild wars is having better loot, including lots of types of armor. it is inferior to guild wars in the quest types. it seems about 50% of the quests are grinding in disguise. the 10 day trial only lets you get to a level 20 character. by that time i was sick of the quests, but i wanted to keep exploring the huge world. if your interested you can sign up here. its worth playing the 10 days even if you arnt going to continue. you will need a gamespy id which is easy to set up, and to enter a credit card, but they will not charge you. i wanted to try a second class for another 10 days so i just had someone else sign up for me, and just created a new account using their key. my first character talk about showoff. the funny thing is no one is looking dont forget about the x games |

updates two days in a row, what is the world coming to? man: "that sounds like science fiction!" wife: "we live in a spaceship dear" finished watching the season of firefly. its amazing, go buy it right now. and go buy serenity tomorrow, when it comes out on dvd. actually, now that i've seen the series, the movie has paled a little. the season was brilliant. i'm not going to describe why i like it; it avoids all the stuff i hate in shows/movies, and has so much subtle good stuff. the interviews in the bonus material pretty much sum up why i like it. the reason i liked the season better than the movie, is the movie requires these cinematic moments. but that takes away from the family like, down to earth, atmosphere of the show. the movie advances the plot too much, while neglecting the advancement of the characters. and the characters are the best part of the season. check out these cats |

pet pieve: when people say "be careful when you ___". i always want to reply, "oh good thing you reminded me cuz i was going to do it all screwed up like" heres my take on the intelligent design thing. its not a theory. a theory is something that can be proved or disproved. since its not a theory it doesnt belong in a science class. i think the people, primarily the religious community, who are totally against evolution do not understand evolution. evolution does happen, its proven. drug resistant bacteria for example. but all the proven evolution is microevolution: a small-scale evolutionary event such as the formation of a species from a pre-existing one or the divergence of reproductively isolated populations into new species, ie. the bacteria. i do not believe in macroevolution, that different families evolved from each other, like man from monkeys, or reptiles from fish. that has not been proven. i believe that in the beginning all the species were created by God, but that they can/have evolved since then. "just another one of those late nights where i miss things i probably never really had" these is an awesome drifting video on collegehumor.com. but i'm at work and it wont let me go there at the moment read this first. i believe the point he is trying to make is that american society is more accepting of violence then sex. im not saying i'm in favor of hippy style free sex, but it all seems a bit stupid. many parents take kids to movies with shoot outs, but draw the line at nudity. in my opinion seeing someone naked is much more acceptable then seeing someone with a hole in their head. sure, i think young children should be sheltered from both, but why do the censors hold a tighter control on sex than violence if it is the more natural of the two? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

nothing much to update. just been working and guild warsing. oh, and watching cowboy bebop episodes. they arnt as good as the movie. they have some indie quality to them, but not like the movie. and i was hoping for more martial arts. but they are still very original, and its still fun to unwind after work with an episode or two. saw wedding crashers. it was pretty good. not the funniest moviest movie i've ever seen, but still pretty funny. not many huge laughs, but lots of chuckles. but it was very original; i was afraid it was going to be a cliche american pie type of movie, which it wasnt at all. i really like how they did vince's character. i thought he was going to be a flatish character, just along to make u laugh, but he is story line was very original. the revealing of the wedding crasher master, wont spoil it for you, was really funny. perfect fit, and they didnt advertise him as a character so it was a suprise. i dont usually do this because "talking about your gf/bf is like peeing your pants, only you can feel the warmth", but me and ari have been together for two years today and so i dont care what you think. but i'll try to not make it too cliche for you guys. since i met her its been more than i can comprehend. it seems like we've been together forever, much longer than two year, but at the same time, that two years is a long time. to me the best part of this relationship is that its so real. its gone through so many phases, shy, clingy, passion, frustration, misunderstanding. but through out it all, the core feelings are always the same. it just feels like home. just the comfort and solidity of having someone who knows just who and what you are, and will love you no matter what. someone who you can share everything with. and that the core is friendship. someone who will play paintball and snuggle with you in the same day. and that we can talk about anything, from the future to misunderstandings to art to nonsense. and of course, that we each believe in the same spiritual goals. ari you are the best, i love you. when i lose my sparkle she's the one that understands |

saw batman begins. it was really good. i would give it a 9 out of 10. everything was done really well and there isnt really anything to criticize. however, a few things werent spectacular amazing, thats why i wouldnt give it a 10. the story line was excellent, very creative and oringinal. i really like how the whole crazy drug in the water set it up for the creation of "super" villians. the acting was good, but not extra good. the hurmor was excellent; it is really hard to get good, non-cliche humor in an action move, but it was definatly present in this movie. i laugh just thinking about it now as im writing this. the action was better than most action movies, more creative and original. it could have used a little more something though, it wasnt as like awe inspiring as like the first matrix or gladiator. same with the overall feel of the movie. it def had a powerful feeling to it, but not as much as a gladiator. there were some parts where i felt, "sweet, thats batman, hes awesome, i wanna be batman" and other times where i though "ok he looks retarted in that mask". overall it was very well done, definatly go see it. i got a 19" monitor for $20 yesterday. its a bit older and ginormous, but its so much nicer from the 17" i had. i changed my resolution from 1024x768 to 1280x1024. the difference is amazing. i feel like everything has so much space. and playing guild wars in a bigger reslolution on a bigger screen...its almost like i have a 180 view of the landscape, and all the bars and windows take up so much less space. now all i need is to get an old pci card so i can run dual monitors!! ill post some pictures when that happens who says computer games cant be works of art 1024x768 1280x71024 ![]() i was going to post something else, but now i forget...bah |

2 updates in one week. im on a roll somehow after sitting in a cubicle for 8 hours, it is impossible not to play need for speed while driving home. and im sure windows down and third eye blind up doesnt help much. a midnight blue ferarri followed me part of the way home yesterday. i think it should be an inalienable right to get to drive one of those before you die. and drive it really really rediculously fast. sigh...i didnt realize how low and wide they were.... the company i work for has free classifieds on the intranet. im getting a 19" monitor for $20. its some buget brand, so hopefully it doesnt break on me. but $20 is worth the risk. if i can get an old cheap graphics card from my old work place im going to run dual monitors. muhaha bash.org. crude geek guy irc chat humor. really crude but really funny. actually, the funniest ones arnt crude, its people making tards of themselves "there are 10 types of people in the world. those who understand binary and those who dont" |

i havnt updated in awhile mostly cuz nothing termendous has been going on. im in the second week of my job now. its going good. sometimes its interesting, sometimes its boring. my bosses are really good to me, and think im doing a good job, so thats good. can wait for my pay check. so many little things i want to buy. and take ari to the bushnel of course still playing guild wars. i beat it with my main character, but now im replaying it with two new characters. its def still fun to replay it because the experience is totally different with with different skill sets, which equal different stratedgy. its currently the top game in sales (left side middle). but seriously it eliminates the bad things about mmorpgs like farming and monthly fees and emphasizes the best part, teamplay. "more colors outside the line more undivided time more everything in all the ways you are" -mxpx found a good internet radio, egg radio. mostly alternative with other stuff mixed in. but not like main stream stuff, and all of it is good. they play funny clips from movies/shows/standup and stuff too. only bad part is its kinda vulger/cursey sometimes and therefore cant listen to it at work, or really loud at home. wired mag had a thing on this site, threadless.com. you can submit shirt designs and the ones that win the vote get printed up for ppl to buy, limited edition. the designer gets money and shirts. if only i had time to do it ![]() |

started to watch magnolia. supposidily its an acclaimed indy. i couldnt finish watching it. it was boring and stupid. watched somethings gotta give. i really liked it. sure its a sappy romance, but i much rather watch an honest romantic comedy with actors that act like people really do, than a cliche action film. watched the 3rd harry potter movie. i cant get enough of those. the new dumbledore sucks though. the other one from the first two movies acted the part much better. and malfoy was much better in the first two event though the actors didnt change. he was too whiney in this one; in the first two he at least acted like he had a spine. ive been playing guild wars non stop. its sucha good game. i have 2 characters, and i still havnt beaten it yet with my first character. soooo much game play. ive played 144 hours (= 6 days) and 13 minutes with my first character and 15 hours and 27 minutes with my second and im still not bored of it. ![]() "God will wait for you forever. you don't have forever" -sn |

u know you are a dork when you are proud that u have amassed a small fortune...in an online game saw star wars yesterday. its hard to come up with an opinion about it. the acting was pretty bad in some spots. and there is no reason why the robots would be programmed to sound all cute and cuddly. they are killing machines, not jar jar binks. some of the light sabre fights were incredibly fake and stupid, and in some shots the lightsabres def looked really really fake. but some of the fights were really cool, like the gen. grievous one, or the yoda one, or the count duku one. haha, when r2d2 takes out the two robots is really funny. the plot overall was very interesting, but it was just executed too bluntly. some subtlety in the acting and human emotion would have made it so much better. out of all of them i liked the acting for obiwan the best. the point of view also flipped around too much. like the first secenes were really good, where it just follows the action of obiwan and anakin as they kill count duku, and u get and nice story line of the battle. later on it flip flops between too many, showing little action in each, when i really wanted to see lots of action in one battle. like i wish there was more of the wookie battle. the cinematography was a little weird in some spots, it felt like u were watching a soap opera instead of a movie. it was really interesting to see how anakin becomes darth vadar in the end though, that was a good suprise. it thought the best character in the movie was gen. grievous, he had character and was just friggin awesome. overall, it wasnt spectacular, but it wasnt disappointing either. |

so relaxed.....yesterday was the last day of classes, and my only finals are in a week, and i dont really need to study for them spend most of today, up until now, in photoshop. a guy from my cs clan is making a map, so i decided to make some custom graphics to go on the walls. wanted to go for a grafiti like feel, so i took guns from the game and reproduced them in black and white outlines, with shadows. i love it when something you create comes out better than u thought it would. aksjdhfkasdjhfwhooo! i feel like i'm high or something. here are a bunch of setups for a deagle grafiti; love the deagle, cant decide on the letters/placement 1 2 3 4 5 yeah, mr. dork, i receintly found i really love the famas. its a fun challenging gun in the game, and sounds really cool. it also looks really cool. seems really ironic that the french created such a cool gun. i found that airsoft makes a version. i really really want one. it would be so sick to paintball with. here is the famas graphic i made for the map, i would make it so it looked like a poster. put both into a cs spray. hmm i just though maybe i should do the knife and some flash bangs too. "its good to make good estimations, not bad estimations" -my probability and statistics professor and head of the computer science department last night i went to a free showing of house of flying daggers. it was bad. the acting was bad. the whole human emotion thing was terrible, people would go from extremes with out any build up or transition. the make out scenes looked like two metally handicapped people, and for some some reason they couldnt stop making out. i want to see crazy sword stuff! making out not needed! the martial arts was so far fetched it was stupid. like hero/fly tiger hidden dragon were far fetched, but to an acceptable point. this was just stupid. the amount of bamboo spears that were thrown, there would be no bamboo forest left. and daggers completely defying the rules of physics, not just a little, but going strait for 500ft and then magically turning in a complete circle. psssh. the best part is in the end when the girl gets a dagger to the heart, "dies", and then wakes up like 2 hours later, stands up, pulls the dagger out, and throws it, and then dies again. the movie also attempted to be artsy with colors and scenery, like hero, but failed. on the total opposite side, i watch the incredibles on dvd today. that was amazing. the plot, the jokes, the animation, the conflicts/emotion on several levels. it was excellent. so dane cook and the other comics were hilarious. my name got made fun of, bryan with a y. one of the head guys in my cs clan killed someone with a flashbang, haha. another non-dairy creamer. im jealous, that was our freakin discovery |

how about those orangemen? i usually dont care about sports that much, but i cant stop following su bball. they are so talented, and you feel like you know them, and have so much respect for them. woke up at 6:30 on my first day of spring break. but it was worth it, no one was at the mountain and the snow was good. this season has been awesome, i've felt so connected to my board, its so quick and responsive, i love it. and as a result i've really improved on rails, and some on jumps/pipe. im not usually a show off, but it feels so awesome to stop a trick with people watching. especially this season, since i've felt my riding has become more fluid and natural. **warning:dorkage** i got a new power supply for my comp, from 450 watts to 550, since all my lights and fans were causing it to draw too much power. you can see it in the top left, with the blue led fan. and then i turned that pick into a cs spray here is a pic of my darkside kick butt chick. im playing as a strong force user, instead of a warrior. its so awesome, she's so powerful and just mows enemies down with the force before they even get to attack, as you can see. |

yeah, so im too lazy to type the excerpts so jilly linked to this awesome band of kids from my old highschool. they are friggin brilliant, accousticbrillianceinabox watched meet the parents last night. i dunno why it took me so long to see that movie, but i loved it. so funny and good its so weird to miss someone that you were just passing friends with. but her style of writing just makes me feel like she's my best friend. i love it, and i only wish i had time to read it all. "i don't feel like i fit anywhere. and get really figety. and want to jumpandscreamandmakeoutandthrowpeopleinthemoat." "ah. i missed robbie today. he'd be proud i'm smoking again. i hate it, but you know, i get a little self destructive sometimes." see what i mean? and thats just from one entry, she writes like that all the time. so i beat kotor 2 as a light side, male, warrior. it was just a good as the first one. it seemed a little wordy sometimes though, and the whole thing about your character being a hole in the fource, and the other characters motivations about that, was a little confusing, they didnt explain it very well. but the plot as far as quests and stuff was better than the first. there was more variety and twists to the missions. now to play it as a dark side, female, stealthy person. oh yeah stealth is cooler in this game cuz you can sneak up on ppl and put a mine at their feet, or use a sneak attack. also the characters in your party are a lot cooler. here is a screen shot of my jedi on the last area of the game |

i seriously love di.fm chillout on itunes. i listen to it if i need to relax, or be creative, or think. its crazy, its like instant...yea i borrowed the 5th element dvd from the library. for some reason i thought it was a new movie, but it was from 1997. it was actually quite good out of context. parts, especially the beginning were actually quite artistic. and the bad, cliche costumes/sets/effects were hilarious, almost like it was a spoof on older movies. like the stuff was out of date on purpose, didn't have that old feeling like if you watch the original star wars. then it was ruined by pathetic fight scenes "you spend your whole life thinking...hoping...your something special. entirely unique. and your never think about why this is what you want or if it's even worth wanting. what's the point anyway? it's so hard to convince yourself you're not worthless if you're not 100% original in every way. but then one day you find people justlike you and it's actually sort of wonderful. relieving. it's okay to just be yourself--even if it means you're not completely one of a kind anymore" -orar updated my links |

i love it beat hl2 this morning. it was an awesome awesome awesome game. graphics were really good. physics were amazingly incredible, stuff exploding, ragdoll physics on the bodies, the gravity gun. the music was really cool and helped to draw you in. the story line was also really cool, but left a lot of questions, there were a few things i wish the game had gone into, but i guess that leaves room for a sequal, but yeah overall it was really cool, created this "hl2 universe" that gave the game a very real feeling. the ai of the enemies was really well done, they would flank you and throw granades if you hid. the game play was amazing, all the challenges and different areas were unique, keeping you from just doing the same thing over and over like some 3d shooters. really, the variety was increadible, you never faced the same situation twice. over all, it definatly pulled you in. **spoiler** i was a little dissappointed at the very end. the whole part where u have the super gravity gun was awesome, chucking people around, but how it ended by just shooting those energy things at the top of the teleport thing, i thought that was a dumb way to end it. **end spoiler** i wanted to get to see more of the aliens. there is so much of the hl2 universe that is hinted at, but you dont actually get to see. this site helped answer a bunch of my questions, altough, i would have rather gotten to see them answered in the game. i still have some nagging things i want to see, i.e. see more of the xen creatures besides the head crabs and vortigons, see more of the actual combine, learn more about the g-man. thats what i think makes a game, or movie, or book awesome. puts you in a role that you couldn't normally be in, and creates this complete universe around you that makes you feel like you are really in that role. you know that the game/move/book has done that, when after your done you regret having to leave that world. i wanna just keep playing hl2 so that i can see all the facinating stuff that exists in that universe. |

made this for our new cod clan, but greg, who was the one who wanted to start it, bailed out after the first day, and didn't even bother to tell us. watched good will hunting last night, first time i'd ever seen it. i thought it was really really good. only part i didn't like was the ending, but i guess it did make a very big impression the way it was. i just didn't like that even though it was a happy ending, it was portrayed very nostagically. or something... "you like apples?" "if i ask you about women, you'd probably give me a syllabus about your personal favorites. you may have even been laid a few times. but you can't tell me what it feels like to wake up next to a woman and feel truly happy....i'd ask you about love, you'd probably quote me a sonnet. but you've never looked at a woman and been totally vulnerable. Known someone that could level you with her eyes, feeling like God put an angel on earth just for you. Who could rescue you from the depths of hell. And you wouldn't know what it's like to be her angel, to have that love for her, be there forever, through anything, through cancer. and you wouldn't know about sleeping sitting up in the hospital room for two months, holding her hand, because the doctors could see in your eyes, that the terms "visiting hours" don't apply to you. You don't know about real loss, 'cause it only occurs when you've loved something more than you love yourself. And i doubt you've ever dared to love anybody that much." people call those imperfections, but no, that's the good stuff. but you presume to know everything about me because you saw a painting of mine, and you ripped my fucking life apart. you're an orphan right? you think i know the first thing about how hard your life has been, how you feel, who you are, because i read oliver twist? "sorry i had to go see about a girl" kinda funny how accurate this is of today being that i was in a 1997 movie. but is it accurate on truth or rumor? i havn't decided yet... "Why shouldn't I work for the N.S.A.? That's a tough one, but I'll give it a shot. Say I'm working at N.S.A. Somebody puts a code on my desk, something nobody else can break. So I take a shot at it and maybe I break it. And I'm real happy with myself, 'cause I did my job well. But maybe that code was the location of some rebel army in North Africa or the Middle East. Once they have that location, they bomb the village where the rebels were hiding and fifteen hundred people I never had a problem with get killed. Now the politicians are sayin', "Send in the marines to secure the area" 'cause they don't give a shit. It won't be their kid over there, gettin' shot. Just like it wasn't them when their number was called, 'cause they were pullin' a tour in the National Guard. It'll be some guy from Southie takin' shrapnel in the ass. And he comes home to find that the plant he used to work at got exported to the country he just got back from. And the guy who put the shrapnel in his ass got his old job, 'cause he'll work for fifteen cents a day and no bathroom breaks. Meanwhile my buddy from Southie realizes the only reason he was over there was so we could install a government that would sell us oil at a good price. And of course the oil companies used the skirmish to scare up oil prices so they could turn a quick buck. A cute little ancillary benefit for them but it ain't helping my buddy at two-fifty a gallon. And naturally they're takin' their sweet time bringin' the oil back, and maybe even took the liberty of hiring an alcoholic skipper who likes to drink martinis and play slalom with the icebergs, and it ain't too long 'til he hits one, spills the oil and kills all the sea life in the North Atlantic. So my buddy's out of work and he can't afford to drive, so he's got to walk to the job interviews, which sucks 'cause the shrapnel in his ass is givin' him chronic hemorrhoids. And meanwhile he's starvin' 'cause every time he tries to get a bite to eat the only blue plate special they're servin' is North Atlantic scrod with Quaker State. So what do I think? I'm holdin' out for somethin' better. Why not just shoot my buddy, take his job and give it to his sworn enemy, hike up gas prices, bomb a village, club a baby seal, hit the hash pipe and join the National Guard? I could be elected president." |

4 new cds (score out of 10): home from home by millencolin-7-first 2 times i listened to it, it was vanilla, but its growing on me as i keep listening. punk, but not poppy, more on the agressive side, but not quite to the thursday/thrice variety. intramentation is good, as are vocals, but its hard to follow the lyrics. before everything & after by mxpx-8-catchy right off the bat. lyrics are good. instramentation could use more variety, its basically your standard punk power chords, but not sickenly so. punk, more on the pop sounding side, but not too bad. take this too your grave by fall out boy-10-punk, slightly on the upbeet pop side, but intramentation and vocals are original. lyrics are very good. songs got stuck in my head right away, no need to let it grow on me. leaving though the window by something corporate-8-alternative rock, more on the mellower side, but still pretty upbeat. beginning of the cd was catchy from the get go, but i still dont remeber the ending songs after i listen to them. prolly will like the ending songs as i listen to it more. instramentation and vocals are very good, but lack variety, songs kinda blend together, especially toward the end. |

various lyrics from the new blink 182 Look to the past And remember and smile And maybe tonight I can breathe for awhile I'm not in the scene I think I'm fallin' asleep But then all that it means is I'll always be dreaming of you We can live like Jack and Sally if we want Where you can always find me We'll have Halloween on Christmas And in the night we'll wish this never ends We'll wish this never ends And as I stared I counted Webs from all the spiders Catching things and eating their insides end of 4th track Where do we go (life's temporary) After we're gone (like new years resolutions) I'm so lost I'm barely here I wish I could explain myself But words escape me Pick me up now, I need you so bad Down down down down Down down down down It gets me so Down down down down Down down down down It gets me so I don't wanna know, I don't wanna go (Go, Go, Go) Come on let me hold you touch you feel you Always Nothing I know changes me at all ... Nothing I feel pulls at me at all She's all I need She's all I dream She's all I'm always wanting She's all I need She's all I dream She's all: I'm always wanting you Yeah I'm always wanting you I'm always wanting you But the words get confused I will go down as your lover, your friend Give me your lips and with one kiss we begin Are you afraid of being alone Cause I am, I'm lost without you Are you afraid of leaving tonight Cause I am, I'm lost without you I'll leave my room open till sunrise for you I'll keep my eyes patiently focused on you Where are you now I can hear footsteps I'm dreaming And if you will, keep me from waking to believe this |

only one more class and then no more till jan. 15! last night some kid took 16 caffine pills cuz he had to stay up all night and write a 16 page paper. they took him away on a stretcher. sometimes i wonder what goes through some people's minds. this morning there was a toilet with writing on it in the middle of the quad (the lawn in the center of the campus). good songs: breathing-yellowcard deliverance-bubba sparxxx "lend me some shuga, i am your neighbor" |

"cern, whose laboratories straddle the franco-swiss border near geneva, said it had sent 1.1 terabytes of data at 5.44 gigabits per second to a lab at the california institute of technology, or caltech, on oct. 1. this is more than 20,000 times faster than a typical home broadband connection, and is also equivalent to transferring a 60-minute compact disc within one second -- an operation that takes around eight minutes on standard broadband. using current technology, a dvd film about 90 minutes long takes about 15 minutes to download from the internet."
