Sara and I finally met in the Summer of 1997. Ellen and I both went down to see her in my truck late one nite in August. She apparently was in Springfield at a Rodeway Inn making a pitstop before heading back home to Ohio. She and her family were on vacation and wanted to rest up after coming from Maine. So, Ellen and I threw on our clothes and headed down the Pike at about 90 mph. Keep in mind that we have been trying to see each other for years and if any of you know what kind of friendship we have, you'll understand the excessive speeding... :) As you notice we are both looking a little rugged due to our situations of coming home from vacation and fleeing down the Pike to see your childhood friend for the first time.
That night we all saved 3 kittens that were abandonned in the broken hotel swimming pool. We fed them chicken nuggets and raced around town looking for other things for them to eat. But after we said our goodbyes, I took the kittens into the truck and brought them back home. I ended up keeping one, giving another to my grandmother and giving away the third. So every time I see that cat I think of the adventure we had on that hot August nite when I met Sara for the first time. Much love to you hon... :)
