That’s All You Need Now

I once had a friend that said they would be there to the end,
but he lied and our friendship died.

When your doing time its easy to fall for the same old line,
though it’s not a crime.

Why ask why or even cry.
You won’t die on the outside, but on the inside your soul dies.

You survive, though you thought both would be old cronies to the end,
but why pretend he’s gone like the wind.

When you trust someone (male or female),
that was old phony home fed baloney,
you now feel lonely.

The part that was your fault,
you have to keep your head up,
and not let your heart burn,
as the world turns we will all learn.

If you have someone that has been there,
through thick and thin,
don’t loose that friend!

You may have to sacrifice,
but don’t let the bond be put on ice,
through your tears flow that is all you need to know.
