Short Explination Inspired by a little framed postcard of Bast I have on my wall in my room. Bast - Past, Present and FutureThere She stands Proud and upright Her slender cat-like body Reflects in the sunlight There she guards Her temple. There She stands Still proud, still upright Now Her body shows chips And wear from the thousands of years past. No longer does She guard Her temple She now sits in a museum. There She stands Eons and eons later All remains is Her head The gold earing in her left ear gone Her right ear severed She sits on somebody's bookshelf As a bookend... In space. Once She stood proud. 4/14/00 |
