A few months ago my family and I were homeless. We were helped by ECHO OUTREACH MINISTRIES of Tallahassee, Florida. We lived at Bethany Family Apartments for about five months. After my father died, we lost everything; house, truck, funiture, credit, file bankruptcy, the works. Dad was really taking care of things. He was a prostate cancer survivor and a sugar diabetes patient on dialysis since 1988. We had exhausted all funds taking care of him and couldn't afford the cost of living.
ECHO MINISTRIES gave us a new start. As the mother of five beautiful children and the (recently wedded) wife of Srt. James Robert "RED" Branch, Sr., We are doing much better now. Echo Outreach Ministries helped us 150%. Their program works for you, when you work with the program. I am currently employed at Florida A & M University. I am also the Minister of Music at Arnette Chapel AME Church in Quincy Florida, Reverend Willie Hagans, Pastor. I want to give a percentage of the funds raised to the ECHO OUTREACH MINISTRIES.
While living at Bethany Family Apartments, I had the peace and quiet, no stress, no bills, atmosphere I needed to get myself and my family back together. I finished a Christian Comedy Book, compiled a CD of my favorite songs to perform, and began participating in Concerts as "Special Guest" or "Featured Artist." April 2002,we produced a benefit concert as "THREE MO SISTAS" at CELEBRATE NEW LIFE TABERNACLE on Agape' Lane in Tallahassee, Florida. I sang with the WORK FOR HIGHER BAND for eight years and we had a benefit concert (reunion) at the AMERICAN LEAGON at Lake Ella in May 2002. I am a regular musical performer at the Walker/Ford Community Center and for many functions for the City of Tallahassee. I will be in "COMEDIC FORM" at Greater Blessings on Paul Russell Road, June 1, 2002.
When I returned home from college ready to tour the world in 1985, I found my parents mildly ill and needing care. So, I opted to stay around home and care for them fulltime. Now they are both in heaven, along with my brother, George Calvin Bess, Jr, who was killed in Westpoint, Mississippi in 1967 while participating in a Voter's Registration Drive with the SNC. My brother's son, George Calvin Bess, III, is here now to help us out.
I plan to TOUR TALLAHASSEE. Singing songs of joy, peace, happiness, praise, and the gospel to all that will have me in their presence. I enjoy listening to myself sing. I know you will love it too. As a natural comedian and born again Christian, this unique talent GOD has given me is dynamic in style, song selection, originality, and entertainment. My friends and family started giving me love offerings to perform for them at parties, church programs, everywhere.. So here I am, stepping out on faith doing WHAT GOD PUT ME HERE TO DO, make you Laugh Out Loud, which is the title of my comedy book. He gave me all I need to get it done, a good education, professional training, lots of experience and people who love and support me.
