I've lived in the Puget Sound area for over 20 years now, Seattle for 10 of those years, but I still find myself looking back fondly on the time I spent in Nebraska growing up and visiting family during the summers. This page is a central spot for a lot of Nebraska related links, but make sure to check in on wheatfield bound every once and a while for reflections and memoirs from my Nebraska days.
places I know:
- Omaha, by place of birth
- Cook, an official "best small towns in America" and my home town through age 7 (I still go back every summer though)
- spent a lot of time in Tecumseh and Syracuse...swimming, shopping, hanging around
- Beatrice was one of the big cities we got to go to every once and a while
- Nebraska City, had the big stores like JC Penny and is home of Arbor lodge and John Brown's Cave
- Brian, my cousin and best buddy when growing up on grandma Rosie's farm lives in Holdridge
- I lived in Grand Island and Aurora for a short while too before moving to Steilacoom, WA
- my great aunt Helen lives in Lincoln
- then there were always towns like Burr, Palmira, Talmage, Unadilla, Weeping Water and Avoca that I spent a lot of time in with family or friends...but they don't have web pages.
