leaves about now september highlights: Portland swim, the NY news...

Tuesday, September 11. The NY news.
My day, all of our days for that matter, started well enough. Mine started with a swim lesson from Laurie Kilbourn, one of the TI instructors that lives in Portland (I'm currently in Portland, OR for a several sustainability conferences, an state wide forum and several meetings at Nike related to my work at Nordstrom). The swim lesson was going pretty well and at one point I noticed a bunch of the people on land, including Laurie were huddled around each other. I finished up the drill and popped up to get the next instructions when Laurie told me about the NY attacks. Yikes. The rest of the lesson went well, albeit a little weird knowing what was going on. It wasn't until the car ride to Starbucks, listening to the radio that I actually became a little queezy. More in e-musing.

Back to pentathlon news...If all goes well, I plan on running on the Nike track tomorrow since I have a couple meetings.

Tuesday, September 4. Some R&R, well not really.
Haven't been doing a lot of training lately, mainly because its off season and I've been doing other things. I probably won't be doing much skill sport training (shoot, fence, ride) since, as the event coordinator, I will be busy getting ready for our first NW pentathlon on September 30th. I'll need the extra time for organizing. I do plan on keeping up my fitness sports though, running and swimming. I'll be taking both my running and swimming stuff to Porland with me and will actually be hooking up with Laurie, one of the TI instructors while I'm there for some additional swim/drill time.

I'll still be teaching Susan on Tuesdays, as well as dropping on some other things from time to time, can't completely stay away from pentathlon - so stay tuned...
