The 16th century was not an easy time for witches -
especially if you were innocent because a real witch ( provided
this rare bird ever existed ) could have easily escaped from her
bonds ....
Now this girl has been accused of practising witchcraft and awaits
her fate
in the Inquisition prison
Her captors have imagined a great variety of restraints to keep her under lock and key :
Pillories , "shrew's fiddles", stocks , chains, cuffs ,
manacles ,shackles, collars and a tying post
