| Background | Every September-October, Their Majesties the King and the Queen will go to stay at Thaksin Ratchaniwet palace, Narathiwat province to visit the residents in the Southern area. As all government officials, merchants and residents appreciate the kindness of the King and Queen so much, they cooperate with one another to set boat races at Bang Nara River by using a korlae boat for this competition. The korlae boat is the fishing boat of Southern fishermen. The special thing about this boat is the decoration on both sides of the boat. |
