March 3, 1987, Eric "Eazy E" Wright launched the first gangsta Rap label: "Ruthless Records". Ruthless Records is one of the most successful record companies of all time. Eric Wright, better known as Eazy E, hustled, sold drugs, & sold his most famous song "Boyz N Tha Hood" out of the trunk of a car to raise enough money to launch his own record label. Although Eazy E died of AIDs on March 26th, 1995, his legendary label is still running. His widow, Tomika Wright, has been running the label ever since Eazy E died. Ruthless Records Bone Thugs N Harmony has kept Ruthless up, selling more than 33 million records.
