MURRAY ROBERTSON:PIANO / ORGAN / VOCALS / MUSIC DIRECTORSince the early sixties Murray has been playing and arranging music for leading Australian and visiting overseas artists. As a member of The Thunderbirds he played for Roy Orbison on his first tour of Australia. This tour also included Dion, Ray Peterson and Jack Scott. The Thunderbirds were renowned as the top rock band in Melbourne in this era. Murray played piano and arranged the successful hit records of Merv Benton and played on many recording sessions for Johnny Chester and Colin Cook. He has accompanied many local and visiting overseas artists including Del Shannon, The Coasters, The Diamonds, The Platters, Normie Rowe, Lonnie Lee, Bev Harrel, Ross D Wyllie, Marcie Jones. Murray has shared the stage with most of Australia's greatest rock musicians and singers. He recently appeared as musical director of the "Superstars of the Sixties" show at the Melbourne Entertainment Centre. |
