Nov. 22, 1975 - president of the Central Maine Power Company
Jul. 2, 1975 -president of the Central Maine Power Company, named CEO. Mr. Thurlow, who
is 51, joined the company as a metre reader. He took the time out from the company to
obtain a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maine in 1950 and later
received his master's degree in business administration from the university. In 1971 he
became president of the utility. He will also serve as chief executive officer and
president of the Maine Yankee Power Compnay, which has a nuclear power
plant at Wiscasset, Me., and which is 37 per cent owned by Central Maine.

Jul. 29, 1983, p.D2 - E.W. Thurlow, 59, retires from Central Maine Power Company, after
the Maine Public Utilities Commission asked the company and Thurlow why they should not be
held in contempt of the commission under the Maine rule of criminal procedure. Mr.
Thurlow, whose salary at the end of 1982 was $176,000 a year, joined Central Maine Power
as a metre reader in 1941. He holds an engineering degree from the University of Maine and
an M.B.A. from the University of Maine in Portland.
