 4.     Chairman’s Report

The Chairman commented that the 2005 season was another bad one weather wise with Thursday evenings getting more than their fair share of rain.

He congratulated Port Talbot Town C.C. on achieving the double and presented the Horace Lucas Trophy to Ian Rees. He also congratulated Cimla C.C. on reaching the Editors Cup Final for the second year running, thanked Neath College for hosting this years event and reminded everyone that next seasons hosts were Baglan C.C.

Port Talbot Town also had a clean sweep of the individual awards with Kelvin Bartle being the best batsman, Ian Rees the best bowler and Dean Morris the most promising youngster. He was disappointed that there was a poor return of averages from clubs and stressed the importance of sending them in.

He was grateful for the continued support of the Neath Guardian who have been with us from the beginning. He stressed the need to supply the Guardian with good reports on matches and asked all Clubs to ensure that they ring through their results immediately after the match and to provide details on players scoring more than 20 runs or taking more than 2 wickets. The Publicity Officer requested that Christian names be given.

Finally he thanked the Secretary and Publicity officer for their work throughout the season and also the Clubs for ensuring the League runs smoothly.

 5.  Treasurers Report

The Treasurer reported a balance in hand of £529.86. The Treasurer endeavours to maintain enough in the account to see us through a full season in the event we were unable to gain sponsorship. His view on the accounts was that we have a healthy balance and he saw no need to amend the subscriptions for Season 2006.

He reminded all Clubs to pay their subscriptions on time, as there were still a few Clubs who required chasing throughout the season.

The meeting thanked the Treasurer for his report.

6.     Election of Officers

No nominations had been received prior to the meeting so the Officers were re-elected from the floor of the meeting.

7.  Representative Matches

A representative match was played against Royal Ascot C.C. and whilst proving to be difficult to organise it went well and it was agreed to proceed with two representative matches in 2006

8.  Applications for Membership

Applications had been received from Skewen C.C., Briton Ferry Steel C.C, Ynysygerwn C.C and Pontardawe C.C.

It was agreed to admit all these clubs to membership and to form two divisions of six clubs. The top six clubs in the 2005 season would form Division One with the bottom two clubs forming Division Two with the four new members.  Promotion/Relegation would be on the one up/down basis. Medals would be awarded to the winners of each division only.

It was further agreed that a £25 joining fee be introduced.

At this point representatives from the new member Clubs joined the meeting to be told of this decision.

There being no further business, the Chairman closed the meeting with a reminder that next years AGM would be hosted by Clydach C.C.
