Tarragon artemisia dracunculus An infusion of the young tops increases the urinary discharge. Modern uses: The plant is still mainly grown for its leaves, which are used in salads and for seasoning and in the manufacture of Tarragon vinegar. It stimulates the appetite and digestive processes. To make Tarragon vinegar, the fresh leaves are simply infused in white vinegar for several hours and strained for use. An infusion of the leaves - 1 oz (28 g) to 1 Pt (568 ml) of boiling water - eases intestinal distention and flaatulence. Take in doses of 2 fl oz (56 ml). PREPERATION AND DOSAGE Infusion: Steep one half teaspoon of dried plant in one half cup water. Take one half to one cup daily, unsweetened.
