SISTER SISTER

Tia Landry and Tamera Campbell are twins that were adopted by different people at birth after their mother died. In the beginning little was known about their parents. Tia lives with her adoptive mother, Lisa, in a not-so-nice part of town. Lisa is loud, crazy, funny - Tia is quiet, smart and well-mannered. On the other side of Detroit was Tamera and her adoptive father Ray. They are upper-middle class, and Ray was left to raise Tamera after his wife died. Tamera is funny, popular, doesn't care about school, and loves boys! Tamera has her first date in the second episode and never looks back! Ray can be uptight, and owns his own Limousine service. One day Tia and Tamera run into each other in the Mall - and from then on nothing can separate them. Sister Sister follows them through high school and into College, covering all of the teen issues.

Sister Sister was the show that set Tia and Tamera's careers off. The show was created especially for them! They started the filming it when they were 15 years old. The first episode aired on April 1st, in mid-season. There were a lot of changes between the beginning and end of the show's run. Tia had to wear a fake mole for the first few seasons because the producers wanted them to look exactly alike. They focused on their similarities, but in the later seasons focused on their differences, so the fake mole was canned. The reason they kept their real first names in the show was because the producer thought that they were nice names.

Tia and Tamera wanted to have input to the storylines and also about the show itself, and said about 75% of the script was their ideas.

Sister Sister still appears as re-runs around the world, and a new generation of fans can now appreciate Tia and Tamera's wonderful acting abilities.
