Not much has been happening in Baddira as of late. I mean, sure, there are
monsters attacking the town and stuff like that, but overall it's as if the
place has lost it's sense of adventure. I am unsure if I will be coming back
anymore to this place. The good memories I have of it are few and far between,
and there really seems to be no reason.
Last night Gravis came to Kiril and I on behalf of Willow. He said that she had
still planned to continue pressing charges against Kiril. See, we explained to
her that since Kiril was still a Knight of Eastwycke and held title, that should
he charge her with any crimes (and he could), that she would end up dying. he,
at the most, would pay a fine. She didn't seem to care...almost a pride issue.
What a sad, sad thing. I'll really miss her... Oh well, we left it up to Gravis
to talk some sense into her, and think he has. We will see...
Tonight was much more interesting though. Some really old guy, think he had
something to do with Time, came to us asking for help. He apparently needed
something and didn't want to interfere or something, cuz he was scared he'd die.
Makes you wonder doesn't it? Let's see, he's afraid he'll die if he goes to get
it, so he sends us...typical. Oh well, Max and everyone else were all about
helping him, so we set off to find it.
The man opened a portal to the place we needed to go, and since it wasn't to
another plane, even Tinker wasn't skeptical at jumping through. I don't think
he's really scared of portals, I just think he does that for attention. Anyway,
we found a bunch of kobolds hanging around, and though they seemed friendly
enough, we knew better. I was so happy I had my kobold sword with me then, and I
went kobold happy. Gosh, I really love that sword! After we had vanquished our
mighty foes and took some time to tend our wounds and refit our armor, we
searched for any clue about this red triangle thing we were supposed to find. We
soon located a small cave nearby, more a tunnel really, and after a brief
inspection, we found it littered with traps. So who do they send in? The small,
fuzzy girl of course. I am, after all, the best trap disarmer ever, and knowing
this, they sent me in to handle the problem.
So into the narrow passageway I went. It truly was dark, and the small flame I
had was barely enough to be worth it. Slowly I crept deeper into the unknown, my
hand gently reaching out to find the traps I knew were there. After a few
minutes, my light found the wires of the first few traps. I set about disarming
them when I spied a few more just up ahead. Great...the place was going to be
riddled with them. Sure enough, after finishing with the first few, I shone my
light toward the others and saw what looked to be a honeycomb of tripwires. Geez...
They didn't want us getting through this place. No problem though...they weren't
expecting me. I'm sure they thought they would be getting the generic, less
agile, person trying to disarm in here. Well...they were wrong. With but a few
flicks of my wrist, I unraveled the entire network, including the traps they
thought hidden under the grate in the middle of the tunnel. I sat there, beaming
at my most impressive job, when suddenly, out of nowhere, I heard a snap. Before
I could do anything, boulders rained down from the ceiling, crushing me. The
next thing I remember is looking up and seeing Max. I was still mostly covered
with debris, but I was alive. I still don't know what happened exactly. I
pondered it for a moment as they others cleared away the debris from my legs. It
had definitely been a trap, no question, but I could only think it had been set
off manually since I had already been sitting there a minute or two before it
went off, and no one else had come inside yet. No matter, whoever it had been,
they were most likely dead by now. Thank goodness for Max and his quick
thinking, or I too would be buried with the trapsetter.
Once I had been pulled free from the rubble, we continued on through the
passage. It opened up into a larger area that had a deep pit cut into the
center. I followed the path around it, right behind Max and together we found a
chest sitting on the other side. Again, I was called upon for my skills, and
with slight of hand, I picked the lock keeping us from the goods inside. I
opened it slowly, keeping a look out for any traps...which seemed to be a common
thing around here. The only thing inside were a bunch of papers...all looking
old and fragile. Max proved this to be true when he reached in and they all
turned to dust at his touch. Arrrggghhh. Frustration. I wonder what they said.
Thinking I might be able to figure it out later, somehow, I quickly gathered up
the remains into a pouch for safekeeping. It was on my way out of this room when
I heard cries of help....from Danrick. He had fallen into the pit and was stuck.
Oh my goodness... How much sense does it take not to fall into a HUGE pit in the
middle of the room?

I find it a bit on the humorous side that Diakaryu has attempted to send me
letters, especially after what he said. Well, I must admit that I was wrong
about my prediction. It has been just a little over a week. I'm sure that his
excuse is still lame, however, so at least I won't be COMPLETELY wrong. No
matter though, when the guard brought me the letter with his seal staring up at
me, I just tossed it into the fire. At this point, even though it kills me to
know he is probably hurting someone to get my attention, I also know there is
nothing I can do to help them. Even if I go, he will still torture them, still
hurt them, and still kill them. The only difference would be that I am there to
watch, and be helpless to do anything. In fact, I would most likely join them
since I could not bear to sit back and do nothing.
At least my day was made brighter when my fiancé arrived for a visit. Though
Kiril was not able stay long, he was exactly what I needed. I truly miss him
when he is away.
