February 603

2-6-603 (Thursday)
I was taking a walk near Kiril’s Keep today when I heard a crash in the woods nearby. There should be guards in place to give us fair warning should Sek’at or any of the orcs breach the perimeter, but I pulled my dagger just in case. You never know. I crept closer trying to spy the intruder when I heard moaning. Not an animal grunt or the sound of an orc dying (trust me I know that one well), but almost…human. Odd. So, I moved to get a better look and it was...almost human anyway. It was a gypsy after all. There sitting next to a tree, was Gregor, nursing his ankle. What was he doing here? Especially after what I did.
I don’t know why he was here or even how he got here, but despite Des and Slice and everything, I had missed him so much and couldn’t help but run to him now. This is the part where I think I scared him more then he did me. He saw the movement in the corner of his eye and for a split second his hand began to glow. He released his grip on the magic and smiled just before I plowed into him with tackle hug.
He tried to explain how he was able to get back through the veil…something to do with fogs or mists or something. I wasn’t really listening to be honest. He came back. No one had done that before. To me anyway. They all leave, but never come back.
I got him back to the Keep and looked at his ankle. Gregor said he had just twisted in the fall, but I looked it over and I would place bets on it being broken. He was probably just saying that to keep me from having to take care of him. He hates it when I fuss over him. Well I got him set up in a room in the Keep and told him a story about a bunny army. I’m not real good at telling stories… Usually Gregor tells me stories, so this was a real switch. He said he liked it though.
I was going to let him go to bed and get some rest, but he offered to tell me a story and I wasn’t going to pass that up. Then he got that clever look in his eyes and suggested he give me an adventure instead. An adventure eh? Hmmmm… That was even harder to pass up. An adventure? With Gregor? Ideas were already forming in my mind of what he might have in mind, and to be honest, I liked them all. Shame on me. In the end though, it was none of those, because he wouldn’t do that to me. And for that, I thank him…sort of.
We did banter, as usual, and for now that was enough. It was hard to leave him to rest and take a nap. When he woke, I invited him to go hunting bunnies, but he had no weapon. The way I hunt is just too messy for him to watch, so we ended with him trying to teach me to dance and playing tag.
I can’t even begin to explain how much I miss him.

Gregor had not left yet and we talked a little about Mykell and that whole thing. He said he was done with Des, done with Slice, done with...everyone. I love Kiril. He is all I have ever wanted and more, and so that should not have bothered me. But it did and I don't know why.
Talk turned to dinner and knowing that I would hesitate to eat with him after this night's talk, he offered to pay double Tia minutes. He's lucky to have an ample supply of them. We'll have to fix that.

Gregor came back again! He had with him a small shrub bearing roses that he had grown in the Vale. It was his hope that I might plant it in the Barony to be a reminder of him. How could I say no?
I spoke with him at length about the The Briarwood and how best to defend it. What strategy might be best to employ and such. With Kiril often away, I was at a loss as to what to do should war come to my home. As always, Gregor came through for me.
He also taught me how to get to Fortannis. A bit scary the first time, but I think I have it down now.
