5-3-01 (Thursday)
I wrote a few letters today telling my friends of my nearing arrival in
Baddira. I am planning a grand party with presents for everyone. It will be good
to see Kiril again...and yeah, Meissen too. And Rabbitt and Bunny said they
would come as well, so I can't wait. I am so excited!
5-16-01 (Wednesday)
Today was pretty rough for me. I had a
few other things to take care of before I began my journey to Baddira. I only hope I did
the right thing...
5-18-01 (Friday)
I was so excited to finally reach Nunverhill, as odd as that my sound...but
my friends were all waiting for me and Dusty and Horatio caught up with us in
time to enter the city with us. Apparently there were brood left in the area, so
the big plan was to go and kill the Queen before the became too numerous. This
was a little scary to think about. I had never fought or even seen brood before,
but the rumors I had heard were enough to let me know that should I have fallen,
I would most likely resurrect. We were beginning to make preparations to join
the rest of the town to go after the Queen when suddenly i felt very ill. Tinker
too began to feel sick, and so we were left behind as invalids I guess. I don't
know what they put in the drinks, but as soon as I laid down, I passed out and
couldn't seem to keep my eyes open long enough to see if we were left with a
ward key or not...just in case.
5-19-01 (Saturday)
Apparently the battle with the brood was a heinous one, as a woke several
times during the night and found no one except Tinker in the cabin with me.
Either that or everyone was out having fun and playing games...without me.
Finally, close to dawn, everyone came back from their grand 'adventure'. You
know, I don't think brood really exist. None came to my cabin while I slept and
I heard no fighting while everyone was gone. In fact, no one even returned with
any kind of proof that they had even been off fighting these creatures. I'm not
sure what they were doing all night...probably having fun...but I doubt it was
fighting brood. Even Kiril had the energy left to travel, as he had to leave
that night to go find someone to teach him something. Because of this, I went
ahead and woke myself to hand out my gifts to them. There went my neat party. At
least I can say that I think everyone enjoyed their gifts...
It was still early so I laid back down and finished sleeping until the sun
finally peeked up over the horizon. As I was feeling much better after a good
nights sleep, I got up with the others and went in search of adventure and fun.
I met this Mystic Wood Elf named Shae. He was pretty fun. Not like a lot of the
other Mystic Wood Elves I know...except for Jackson and Booger...of course. He
was on his way to help the forest or something, so we joined up with him to go
help. These woods were kinda creepy. The trees were all twisted and looked like
they wanted you dead. In fact, some of them had bodies hanging amongst them as
if they really had killed those who traveled through here before us. Then, as if
to prove me right, the plants began moving and attacked us. These things were
just nasty. We fought long and hard, many of us falling to the ground before the
plants as they slew us one by one. It was a good thing we had a healer and some
alchemists like Dusty and Pollux with us. At one point, Meissen fell behind the
enemy line and most of the others were down as well. I was preparing to go after
Meissen when suddenly Dusty grabbed me, hefted me over his shoulder, and ran....
The others were planning to grab as many as they could as well and flee, but as
I said before, Meissen was behind enemy lines. I was speechless at first. I
appreciated the fact that he was trying to save me, but with Meissen down, I was
still in trouble. You see, since Meissen is spirit-linked to me, if he dies, I
go to the circle to resurrect with him. So as long as Meissen was down, my life
was still in trouble and no matter how far I ran, I would still die if he did.
So he put me down, and we ran back to see what we could do to help everyone
without dying ourselves. Well, everyone was up, including Meissen, so we jumped
back into the fray to kill ourselves some plants, and after a few more
encounters...we finally made it to the Dryad we had come all that way to help. I
was hoping she would appreciate it, but as usual...she didn't. She just wanted
us to bring her that mystic wood elf chick who used to be the Desolate. Right,
like that chick risked her life to get there to save her. But the dryad was
corrupt, as is most of the stuff in Nunverhill, and so she insisted that
Corrinne or whatever her name is, was the only thing that could save her. I
think she just wanted to kill her personally, but there was nothing else we
could do, so we left.
Later on, it got a little slow, probably due to the heat. I think most of the
creatures here are cold-blooded or something as they get a bit sluggish and
sleepy when the sun comes out. That or they're undead and so don't come out
until the sun goes down anyway. But as there was some time to just sit and talk,
a few of us gathered around to talk. Diakaryu didn't seem to remember all the
stuff that happened in his homelands during the war, so I offered to recount the
stories for him...since Seith had taken me there (whether Diakaryu believes it
or not). So he bade me to please...tell them, and so I began with this one about
when I saw him fighting. I think I had gotten to the part in the story when he
was attacking this one guy on the enemy side, when he just decided he wanted to
start a donut war. t was kind of out of the blue, so I wasn't really prepared
for it. I guess that's why he did it? I needed the practice...? Anyway, so we
ran around with Dusty and Horatio while Tinker and his new Raccoonari sister,
Zoie, juts sat and watched us. I think I won in the end, cuz I just put up a
circle and stuck my tongue out at him. I love winning! You know...I never did
finish that story...
Other then that, not much happened today except a little more fighting...oh and
Horatio attacking me. Wow he must have been hot, cuz he left black fur all over
me! I waited and waited for Kiril to come back too, but he never did. That made
me kind of sad, but I guess he was working really hard on whatever he was
learning.
5-20-01 (Sunday)
Ok today was a bit hectic. First of all those plants we fought trying to get
to that dryad yesterday. They just kind of rolled into town and started
attacking us. Being bored, I was all about jumping into the battle and kicking
some weed butt. So after a few of them were uprooted and thrown into the compost
heap, they decided to bring out the big boys. these guys had skills! I don't
know where they learned them, but they were casting and slaying and
everything. I know...one berserked me. That was scary, good thing thing
someone cut me down. Problem is that then no one fixed the problem before they
healed me, and unfortunately Dusty was standing right there when I got up. That
nearly broke my heart to see him standing there as the rage within me struck out
at him. I wanted to stop, but I couldn't, and he never even struck back, only
defended himself until Diakaryu ran by and awakened me. I was so grateful to him
for that, and embarrassed and horrified at my actions. I would never forgive
myself if I hurt my friends...
Needless to say, the fight did not last long after that, and we were more then
eager to leave the place. I thought we were going on a vacation, but it seems
trouble follows me wherever I go. Oh well...one of these days...
5-23-01 (Wednesday)
As Tinker had left Monday to resume some important duties he had awaiting
him back in the Barony, Dusty and I took Zoie with us for a romp out in the
woods. As usual though, we didn't get to have to much fun before we were called
away on business. Tiffany was in danger and we were needed to make sure she
remained safe. So into the blue portal we leapt, Zoie in tow (poor thing, she
had no clue what she was getting into), and when we finally calmed our tummies
on the other side, we could see Lady Almore with an army of undead fighting
something...Mize perhaps on one side, and Tiffany with her golems and some of
those bat thingies on the other. Up ahead of us on the road leading toward
Tiffany, there were two black-clad men, walking in her direction. Seeing as how
these guys always seem to be with Fracture, this didn't seem to be looking good
for her...or us for that matter... Dusty and I quickly dispatched these
gentlemen after they insisted on fighting us, and made haste with Zoie toward
the girl. You would think since her mother seemed to have an entire army of
undead at her command, that she could control them, but I guess not as several
of them popped out of the tree line around us as we approached Tiffany. No
matter to me. A few more nasty undead rotting away at my feet was no worry to
me. I was definitely going to have to have a serious talk with Tiffany about her
mothers illegal actions.
But as there was nothing I could do about that at the time, and Tiffany was
still apparently in danger, with all those bat things around and stuff, we
pressed forward. Eventually we got to her, and bade her to come with us. She
did, although begrudgingly, and wow was I glad Zoie was there. She took charge
of Tiffany while Dusty and I fought our way back through more and more undead.
Ick...those things are just plain gross... Just as we neared the portal,
Fracture rifted in to block our exit. Ok, I'm really, really beginning to
dislike this guy. He not only scares me, but he always seems to show up at the
most inopportune times.
Of course he laughed at us and the usual banter pursued. "Give me the
girl...", "No we won't give you the girl...", "Give me the
girl or you die...", "Ok fine, bring it!" You know...the usual...
That's about the time his hands started glowing and then the fight was on. I
didn't think we would win this one, but we tried as we really didn't have a
choice. Dusty was the first to fall, and then as I tried to talk Tiffany into
helping me as I fought, Fracture broke through my defenses for a final time and
the world around me quickly turned to black. I knew I was done for, but a little
while later, I awoke. Dusty was standing there and Tiffany was gone. If not for
the fact that we were still in this strange place, I would have thought it all a
bad dream. It was of little matter, we had failed and Tiffany was taken by that
disgusting excuse for an elf.
5-26-01 (Saturday)
I finally got a chance to visit that fabled place called The Briarwood
Territories. Meissen had told me to meet him there as he thought I might have
some fun, so I arrived there late Saturday night and met up with Dusty since he
had left before me. I saw so many people there that I hadn't seen in many, many
months and because Tinker had taken my things back to Drakemyre when he left,
they were all kind enough to give me some things to protect myself with. In
fact, I was talking with Calypso and Raylor when I Y'rlie mentioned the ritual
they were doing a few feet away from me. I can't believe no one told me that
before I went inside! Ahhhhh!!!! At least they let me out...unlike a certain
Baron who refused to last August in Corvos...and I ran to find Meissen. He tried
to tell me that no ritual was being done inside. That you needed a 'ritual fish'
to do one and that no one there had one of these fish. It was well...a fishy
story, but Raylor confirmed that you did indeed need one, so I started to relent
to the argument. This was until Y'rlie and Calypso confirmed that they were
indeed doing rituals. Oh My Gosh!!! How many times must you tell people that
rituals are bad and evil before they begin to listen. And I can't believe
Meissen would try to lie to me... I swear I'm going to either have to take his
collar away, or begin using my cape on him until he learns to behave...
Anyway, eventually we gathered together our little force which consisted of me,
Meissen, Symkin, Bunny, and Diakaryu, and off we went in search of some fun. We
eventually found it...a small cave worth exploring, and so inside we went to see
what we could find...
At first, we didn't see anything. Just the normal cave
things...rocks...puddles...bugs... So I picked up a few rocks that looked neat,
jumped in a few puddles, and snacked on a few bugs. So far I was having a blast,
but the others looked a bit bored...except Bunny, who's never bored. I even got
him to eat a bug! That was funny, you should have seen his face! Anyway, so I
think we were about to head back when we caught sight of a few undead. This was
what the rest had been waiting for I take it, as they pretty much blew them
away, and then continued on, eager to find more. I followed them and sure
enough, we found more...and these became dust too. We moved on and found more
and blew them up and well...this pattern continued for a good while until we
finally realized we were really deep and were in over our heads. The undead
seemed to be coming out of nowhere by now and it was getting to the point that
we were actually having a tad bit of trouble fending them off.. We tried to
retreat, but were ambushed by a huge...well army of them. They had many casters
with them, and eventually Symkin ran out of his own. With one left on their
side, he and Bunny and I decided to pick him off to get rid of their only
advantage. So, well...we rushed him. That was our mistake...he shattered first
Symkin's shield, then my sword, and finally...I guess as a joke...Bunny's right
shoe. So I backed out with no weapon at my disposal, and Symkin was finally
forced back to with no defense. I began to edge toward him to hand him mine,
when Bunny tripped over me in his attempt to escape them as well. Diakaryu and
Meissen were keeping them off of us...for the moment, but it was obvious they
were exhausted...and so were their spells. The undead were getting closer, and
finally Diakaryu broke off to join us for a final stand. Then it happened...
Meissen stopped casting and this light surrounded him for a moment. Then he
changed...into his dragon form. I would have been in awe had i not been giggling
so hard at the fact that he was pink. He was huge...standing several stories
high...his purple belly almost glowing in the dim light of the cave. The undead
stopped for a moment, and that's when he struck out. But it was still
Meissen...you could tell...even in his dragon form. He first stomped on the
closest to him, just crushing their heads or arms or legs enough to make them
stick to the ground, but not enough to kill them. Then as the rest turned to
run, he laughed...I think...more a roar, but he looked like he laughing...and
just cut them down before they could take more then a few steps. This went on
for a while...with me running around killing those stuck to the ground. I had to
put them out of their misery. If you've ever heard them wail and scream, you
would too. Pretty irritating and grating on your nerves. Symkin, by now, was a
little mass of blubbering flesh. He was scared Meissen would hurt him too I
think, so I just slept him to make him stop. Then, as I looked around at the
large number of undead laying around, I caught Meissen out of the corner of my
eye lazily biting the head off of another that hadn't run fast enough. Bunny was
standing there watching when I saw another straggler creep up on him. I ran to
help, and...well I'm assuming there was a rogue somewhere amongst the few left
as I don't remember what happened after that. When I woke up, Meissen was back
to hobling form and we were outside the cave. Bunny was speechless, except for
when he told me he had thought I was joking about Meissen being a dragon. And
Symkin...well...he's still scared of Meissen I think.
5-31-01 (Thursday)
Okay, I'm really confused now... Diakaryu was back at the inn, though he
left immediately after Dusty and I returned. He did, however, mention some
things to me that left me speechless...
