You would be wise to know them, for failure to comply with them may lead you to face the Kris. Our laws are few, and simple:
1. Gypsy owes his loyalty first to the reigning Gypsy Monarch, then to the Bandoleer of his tribe, thirdly to the safety and well-being of all Gypsies, and finally to any other Gaje group with which he may be associated.
2. Gypsy, without good provable cause may cause harm or danger to another Gypsy.
3. Gypsies NEVER lie. Remember our problems in the beginning, and do not tell the Gaje that a fire has eaten the granary when the granary still stands. But all jest aside, do not lie to another Gypsy.
4. A traveling Gypsy is welcome to the hospitality and protection of any Gypsy camp. Remember Pino.
5. Any Gaje who is named Didikai, or Gypsy Friend, is considered to be a Gypsy and will be treated as a true Gypsy would be treated.
6. Curses, as I've told you before, are only to be cast when you or another Gypsy (including Didikai) have been threatened, harmed, or insulted.
7. We do not steal from other Gypsies. Bear in mind, however, what I told you of property: If no one appears to be using it, no one appears to own it.
8. The secrets of a Gypsy or of the Gypsy Nation are not to be revealed to the Gaje.
