Walker has easily become one of my closest friends. It's odd if you think about it though, since it didn't start out that way. Wierd things had been going on when I became the Maiden and some of my skills and abilities were distorted or missing. I had heard that this archer, Walker, had a skill I had 'lost' and in my haste, assumed he had somehow taken it. So I went looking for him...to take it back. I don't know how he took it or how I would get it back, but it was going to happen one way or another, You don't steal from Death...least of all Vengeance.
Well it turns out that wasn't the case at all...he just happened to be unlucky in the timing of his 'gifts'. So I talked to him and he was really nice and we sorta became friends after that. Even after I told him what I had planned. Very forgiving guy, yes?
Apprenticeship:
Death had mentioned to me that I needed to pick an apprentice. Well, I don't know that apprentice is the right word, but whatever a Death trainee would be called. He had a few choices for me to pick from, Walker being one of them. He did take it really well that I had wanted to maim and torture him before, so I asked him if he wanted to work with me. To be honest I didn't know what he'd say, but I was relieved when he said yes. I hate getting turned down.
After conferring with my Master about his decision, I performed the ceremony that would link him to me and through me to Death, I only felt bad I had to kill him to do it. At least he was a good sport about it. He's going be great at this when I'm done with him.
Favorite Stuff:
Squireship:
I had been watching Walker for a while and noted many things about him that were true and noble. After Rabbit, I didn't really want another quire and the one I did pick was a disaster, so I was reluctant. But Walker seemed the ideal candidate and I was already working with him for Death and he was also my brother. How perfect could this be? I talked with him about the idea for about a month and he seemed receptive to it. Whether he know it or not, he was tested a few times during that period and passed. So in September, I had him kneel before my blade and made him my squire. Clearly it was meant to be.
Occasionally Walker will stay with me while I'm in Ackliceum. There's plenty of pillows and more then enough room, so why not. He doesn't snore like Jackson, so that's good, but I don't have a teddy bear. I wonder if that's his. Maybe I should just get him a Tia doll of his own...
