It was the perfect end to the season with beautiful sunny Norwegian summer weather. Three full days of Sporstman class racing resulted in 10 full rounds of qualification.
We got a 9,903 already in the first round, and was 1st qualifier until Mikael Karlsson bumped us down to second with a 9,901 in his Chevy powered '67 Mustang. But we held 2nd place through saturday.
So our only chance of improvement in the last qualification round sunday morning was to run a perfect 9.900. We didn't manage that because we only ran a 9,901! But in the other lane Terje Håkonsen ran a 9,900 in his Lenco shifted Hemi powered Challenger! So we ran a 9,901 but was bumped to 3rd! By this Terje also secured himself the bye-run in the first elimination round.
Olav "Asse" Øvstetun also was to get a bye-run because Steinar Løvold broke the engine and did some amazing piruettes between the guard-rails when he spun on his own oil. Many brave men has tried to tame that "Jeep" over the years, and many brave men has given up......
This must be the tightest Super Gas field ever in Scandinavia with 11 drivers in the 9,90s, and 7 of them did this without throttle stops!

We got Petter Sukkestad in the first round. We have met several times now, and he has beaten us most of them but we have also been able to beat him on occation.
This time he beat us on the three and we broke out trying to catch him. So a dissapointing end to the season for us, but very typical for the whole season. Good qualifications but bad eliminations. And no wins this season.
But we must have picked up some points during the season anyway because we advanced two places in the total points standing and will race as SG6 next year. And again we were best Norwegian team in the NDRS Super Gas series, and best team racing without electronics.
