Spring Nats 2002 Gardermoen, Norway
May 11th to 12th 2002
Last updated May 15th 2002
The first Scandinavian dragrace of the 2002 season!
Eight familiar faces in Super Gas, but Tom Walter Nilsen showed up with a beautiful new '69 Camaro.
Since it was the first race after the winter, most people were a little "rusty".
Many ET's far over and under the index.
After six rounds of qualifications we were 3rd qualifier with a 9.917, a hairstraw behind Petter Sukkestad's Mustang with a 9.916 and Bjørn Nordin's AMC Javelin who started the season with a dead on 9.900.

For some reason, the ladder was set up by the old "sportsman" way, Qual 1 meets 5, 2 meets 6 and sofort instead if 1 meets 8, 2 meets 7 that we are used to now.
So our opponent for the first round was Roy Johnny Ødegård. But Roy Johnny broke the engine in his Camaro already saturday so we looked forward to a bye-run in the first round.
After a full week of sunshine, something quite unique in May in Norway, the rain started the minute the finals were about to start! It then rained for two hours, and stopped just long enough for the Gardermoen crew to dry the track before it started again. There was no other choice than to cancel the race.
And today Monday we have a clear blue sky again, of course. What have we done to the weather-gods ???
