Our problems started already Thursday afternoon. We planned to leave Oslo about 6 PM for an 8 hour drive to Valle i Setesdal. But when we where ready to leave we had no lights on our trailer. The only member of the team who knows the difference between current and amperes was not with us for this race because he preferred to go to the Norwegian Corvette Nationals.
Therefore the rest of us had to pretend to be electricians. After three hours of following cables from the trailer-connector forewards to the battery we finally found a melted fuse. So 9 PM we left Oslo.
5 AM Friday morning we arrived in Valle with three hours of sleep before qualification for the first race. (This is a double round in the Norwegian series, NDRC) After two hours one team member woke up because his inflatable matress was empty. So for the rest of the weekend he had to get up to pump his matress every second hour! Yes, it was that kind of weekend!!!
Only six drivers showed up in Super Gas, but all of them capable to win. Already from the first qual-round we had problems finding traction. We ran a lot of 10.0s and a few 9.70s but nothing in between! Finally we ended up as 4th qualifier, which is not a bad spot in a six man sportsman ladder because you can look foreward to a bye-run in round two. The downside is that you will meet 1st qualifier in the first round.
