Tiazinha Suzana Alves
Who is she and why is she famous?
The goddess of the hour in Brazil, Tiazinha is the host of the very provocative
and kinky show.
Tiazinha is Brazil's sex symbol of the moment. In a country renowned for its
sexy inhabitants, being considered among the top symbols of the moment
says a lot about the kind of appeal she has among Brazil's male population.
Outside of the Portuguese-speaking world, she isn't quite as well-known, which is a travesty since this former model and her trademark mask are a sight for sore eyes. After appearing on a game show and whipping male contestants that got answers wrong, her mask is what brought her the incredible fame she enjoys in her home country.
Beauty
Her physique is immaculate and her lips are the stuff dreams are made of. We're
floored.
Personality
This is where she loses big points with us. Despite all her beauty, we've been
less than impressed by her interviews in which she sounds more like a
14-year-old girl than a world-class star. She needs to take lessons in finesse
and coherence because girls who aren't intelligibly bright will turn off any
man.
Attractiveness
The points she loses with us every time she opens her mouth are easily gained
back every time she gets out her whip and garter belt (her uniform of choice on
the game show). A mask, whip, garter belt, lingerie, and high heels? How can she
possibly get any sexier?
Career & status
In whichever magazine she appears, she sets a new record for sales.
She has the magic touch right now -- all because of her shyness. It was her fear
of being in front of an audience that made her put on her life-changing mask.
Who says shyness is a drawback?
Fame
and Recognition
What was the top selling item at this year's Carnival in Brazil? You guessed it,
a black mask. Although she could run for President and win in Brazil, her sexy
persona conjures up images of Amsterdam's red light district rather than a
budding model.
Personal Style
The whips and high-heels are part of her act, but even in real life,
Tiazinha (a.k.a Suzana Ferreira Alves) dresses with enough style to put even the
most refined women to shame.
Quote
"I think Tiazinha is very good for women...A lot of women are embarrassed to do
stuff like this and so their husbands start looking for another woman." -Tiazinha
BIOGRAPHY
Who's that masked woman holding a whip and wearing stiletto heels? It's Tiazinha
-- "Auntie" in Portuguese --- thheee popular dominatrix of the television show H.
The variety show, which is featured on the Brazilian network, Bandeirantes, is a
game show of a different sort and has become Brazil's hottest television
attraction.
It all started when Suzana Ferreira Alves, a 21-year old Communications student, was offered the role of Tiazinha. Alves is more timid than her alter ego Tiazinha, and needed the help of the mask to help her overcome her timidity. The producers of H had to persuade her to accept the role, which meant wearing nothing but a garter belt, black corset, riding crop and stiletto heels. Alves accepted the part after the producers allowed her to wear a mask at her request, which actually adds to Tiazinha's attraction and mystery.
Alves was in the public eye before her stint as Brazil's new sex symbol, with her past experience as a print advertising model. She has also worked in children's plays and television commercials.
As the lace clad, whip-bearing temptress Tiazinha, Alves gives audiences a lesson on domination. In her segment, a group of teenage boys are asked trivia questions. They don't lose points if they answer wrong; they lose leg hair, as Tiazinha removes a patch of leg hair off the boys' legs, which are covered with depilation wax.
The show also features another segment entitled "In Bed With Tiazinha", with a similar quiz show premise. In this one, the teenage boys who give wrong answers to trivia questions must take off an article of clothing, while Tiazinha must take off an article of clothing for every correct answer. The show does not allow for Tiazinha to go past her undergarments in the segment, so she must start off with more clothing and accessories to begin with.
Alves' participation on the show has proved to be a huge success in Brazil: Not only does she receive a large monthly paycheck for her involvement on the show, she also charges up to $5,500 for every nightclub appearance, in which she pretends to do a striptease in the same "wardrobe" she wears in H.
Tiazinha was also featured in the parade during Brazil's Carnival, in which she was one of the parade's highlights, adorned in her famous attire. She was Brazil's unofficial Carnival Queen and her trademark mask became the best-selling Carnival item.
She appeared in an issue of Play boy, which apparently sold an incredible amount of copies. As a cover girl, she has also appeared on the covers of the top three Brazilian magazines and has been on the cover of every major newspaper. There has even been a Tiazinha line of clothes and accessories based on her character, consisting of garments, shoes and bags with her name on them, in addition to the obvious lingerie and mask.
Tiazinha guest-starred on a popular children's television show, where the show's hostess and the whole audience wore the Tiazinha mask. Doing more than merely entertaining young audiences with her sadomasochistic behavior, Tiazinha offers weekly advice to adolescents about sex.
Tiazinha lives with her parents, who are both from the northeastern state of Paraíba. The daughter of Geraldo and Dona Lúcia, Alves always carries a mini-bible wherever she goes, although she admits to presently being less religious. It took a while for her parents -- an evangelical mother and a strict father -- to get used to their daughter's career, but they are now supportive and even refer to her as Tiazinha at times.
When not in school or doing her thing on H, Alves spends her time bodybuilding, as well as engaging in martial arts, jazz and ballet. What else do you need to know?
