These are  2 different views of a cage we just finished. There is a door in front and one also on top. The door we have on top also has a ladder leading to it from the inside. On top we put a removable playground. And on the front right hand side we install 2 ladders, for the birds that like to jump down and climb back up. (Jennanydots) There also is a removable tray on the bottom of the cage, so we can change the newspaper. That is so the residents don't have to read the same ole newspaper in the mornings. The lower section has 2 sliding doors. The inside is for storage. Who doesn't need more storage?
Oh I almost forgot, there is also a Rae's cement perch inside.        Not bad for one weekend of work.

The paneling was scrap paneling picked up at Builders Square. At $3.95 for a 3'x4' piece we used 3 pieces.
The 2"x2" and the molding were picked up at our neighborhood lumber yards as well as the screen.
The screen is ½ x1" screening. And I believe there is 10 ' of it. All total we spent :
Screen……………………………………...10" @ 1.75 per '………………17.50
Paneling…………………………………..4 pieces @3.95………………..11.85
2x2…………………………………………4 10' lengths @ 3.00………….12.00
Molding………………………………….. various pieces………………….30.00
                                                                      Total…………………………  $ 71.35
18x24x36 are the dimensions of the cage.

As far as plans go, we got the cage done by a friend. He had a special pair of pliers to bend the clips that hold the screen together, but you could do it with regular pliers.  We do stuff for each other. We didn't like the way it looked, just a plain wire cage. So we framed it and paneled it and put the molding on anywhere it looked good and presto-chango a nice piece of work if you ask me. The plans were done as we went along, what ever looked good got done. We had do some redo's also. The final thing is 45 " high  20 " deep and 41 " long.

We didn't use any blue prints or plans. You can do this to just go for it let your cage have your personality.
