"Hello, LA," Xander said softly, his eyes taking in the bright lights of the big city. Angel glanced over at the mortal who sat between two vampires, smiling at the awe that was on his face. The human turned around, nudging at Willow. She was curled to Spike, both on their side. Spike had her between him and the back of the seat, as if he were shielding her body from danger. Xander heard a low growl coming from Spike. "Stop being so damn possessive," Xander growled back. "I want to talk to Willow."
Yawning, Willow sleepily opened her eyes. She lifted her head, looking over Spike's shoulder. "What is it, Xander?"
"We are in LA!" His eyes shined with a childlike curiosity and happiness. "I mean, big city! We are *here*!"
Willow pulled out of Spike's arms, the vampire's growl growing. "Spike, hush," she said softly. She stroked his neck, calming the low dangerous growl down to a deep purr. She leaned down, kissing his cheek. She climbed over him, crawling into the front seat. She situated herself on Xander's lap. Glancing over at Xand, who was leering at her, she shuddered. "I'm not sitting in your lap."
"Why not, my little Willow?" the vampire grinned.
"Because Spike can still hurt demons, and he would rip your throat out, and I don't think Angel would be too well about that," Willow said matter-of-factly.
"You didn't care about what Spike thought this morning," Xand egged her on. He loved seeing Willow when her eyes were flashing in anger.
She narrowed her eyes. Xander, who had his hands on her hips, squeezed them in reassurance. "Listen here, Xand. It was the coffee. And the fact that I was so damn tense and uptight about all that craziness from last night. I don't want you. You are cute, don't get me wrong, but I'm not your Willow. I want Spike." Her voice was hard and cold.
A smile tugged on Xand's lips. "You are more like my Willow than you know," he said softly. He sat back, crossing his arms. "Don't worry, dear. I'm not after you. I won't turn you down if you come to me, but I'm not after you. It's that big hunk of a vampire driving that I think I want to sink my fangs into. And your little human best friend might be interesting too. . ."
Xander shuddered at the thought. "Gives a new meaning to the term 'go fuck yourself'," he chuckled. "Anyway, Wills, look at the city! This is *it*! We are away from the Hellmouth, we are in Los Angeles! We have finally arrived!!"
Willow smiled, her eyes dancing as she took in all the sights. "Oh goddess! Angel, slow down! Don't look like you are slowing down though."
"What is it, Little One?" Angel asked, glancing at Willow.
Her voice dropped. "I think that woman is a bonafide hooker! I've never seen one before. Not a real one anyway. . ."
Angel's laughter was deep and full of merriment. "Wills, you are a joy, you know that?"
She looked up at him and smiled. "Thanks, daddy," she purred.
Spike grumbled from the backseat. "Bloody hell, pet. Don't start calling him daddy. That gets him off. Sick wanker." He chuckled slightly.
"Boy," Angel said threateningly.
"Yea, yea," Spike said, sitting up. He leaned forward, kissing Angel on the cheek. "You love me, daddy," he said, batting his eyelashes. "If you didn't, you wouldn't have brought me here away from the nasty Slayer." He sighed unnecessarily at his train of thought.
Angel reached up, running his fingers down Spike's cheek. He knew that his childe's thoughts were of Drusilla, and that the blonde wouldn't say out loud that he missed her sometimes. Not in front of Willow, anyway. Perhaps with Sire and Childe were alone, Spike would let his walls down long enough to discuss Dru and her leaving, but not around Willow. "It's ok, William. I won't ever let her hurt you again," Angel promised. Somehow, Spike knew his Sire meant both the Slayer and Drusilla.
"Alright," Angel said a few minutes later, pulling into the garage of his new apartment. "The apartment is downstairs, just like the old building. The office is the first floor, and Gunn and Wesley live on the second floor. He glanced at his watch. "Unless she's out, Cordelia will still be here, I'm sure. She feels better with us at night, until she's ready to go home and sleep. Now they know about Spike. . ."
Spike's eyebrow rose in surprise.
"I didn't know why you were calling me, so I told them that you might be coming home with me." He smiled. "However, there wasn't really. . .I didn't tell them about you guys. There will be room, Gunn and Wesley only take up half of the top floor. Spike and Willow can have the other half. Xander and Xand, you are downstairs with me." He turned the car off and looked at all of them. "I don't want anyone to give my staff a hard time, Xand." His eyes settled on the innocent looking vampire.
"What?" Xand asked, his eyes twinkling. "I'm not going to do anything."
"Whatever," Willow said, rolling her eyes. She turned in Xander's lap, leaning towards Spike. "You be good too, Spikey." She smiled.
"I can't promise that, Red, but I'll certainly try." Spike smirked. "Come on, let's get upstairs and make sure *our* place is vamp proof." He waggled his eyebrow, emphasizing the word 'our'.
Willow sighed, turning to Angel. "Angel," she whined, "do I *have* to share a room with Spike?" Her eyes twinkled.
Her question prompted Angel to chuckle. "Yes, you do. If you really can't stand it, I will figure something out. But give it a few days. Spike, you'd better be good, or you'll be punished," he promised.
Spike's lips curled into a feral grin. "I thought you were going to only bloody punish the two whelps."
"Yea, well, you are the only one of them that is my childe, and we might still have to have words."
Spike shrugged. "I might be good. I might not. I haven't decided yet. Come on, let's go scare the Cheerleader."
