Willow's Discovery
Willow walked in her house, happy with her purchases for the day. She had bought Spike a cute little teddy bear with fangs, something she hoped he'd think was cute. She had no clue if he was a stuffed animal person (<Vampire,> she corrected herself) but figured he'd at least find it humorous.
She glanced up and gasped. Spike was on the floor moaning in pain, while Xander (<XANDER? What on earth is he doing here?>) was perched on him, about to run a stake through his heart.
"NO!" she screamed, throwing her stuff down. She slammed into Xander, knocking him off the inert vampire. "You will kill him!"
Xander stared up at his best friend in horror. "He changed you," he whispered. "Oh, god..." He closed his eyes. Willow stared down at him, unsure of how to react to the horrified feeling she almost lost Spike.
When Xander opened his eyes again, they were filled with hate. Willow gasped. "You aren't my best friend, you are a damn demon who stole her body! I'm going to kill you, then kill him!" he hissed.
He flipped them over and raised the stake. She struggled helplessly. "Xander!" she cried. "I'm human!"
"Stop lying, bitch! You can't stop the inevitable. My stake is ending up in your heart."
Fear filled Willow's body. For three months, she prayed for death so she could join Graham. And now, that she was facing it, she didn't want to die. She wanted to be with Spike. "No, Xander, please!" she begged.
Spike struggled to turn his aching head and moaned. "Xander...don't...she's human."
"Shut up, you lying bastard!" Xander hissed. "I hope it hurts you to watch your little bitch die... as much as it hurts me to know you killed my Willow."
Tears filled Spike's eyes. "No, no, don't..." He looked at Anya. "Anya, please...stop him before he hurts her," he begged, sitting up. He gasped in pain.
Anya blinked at the emotions in Spike's eyes. <Could he be telling the truth?> She rushed over to Xander, knowing that this could be a trap. She prayed it wasn't.
She grabbed Xander's hand holding the stake. "Check to make sure she's vampy before you stake her."
Xander turned to glare at his wife, but shrunk away at the anger in her eyes. "Yes, ma'am." With his other hand, he reached down to check for a pulse, as Willow glared up at her best friend angrily.
Xander nearly tripped over himself as he jumped off of Willow. "Oh, god, oh god, Anya, she's human....heart....pounding. I could have killed my best friend..." Xander's face was horror stricken.
Willow slowly sat up, her body aching from the struggle with Xander. She slowly made her away across the five feet separating her from Spike. "Are you ok?" she asked.
He looked at her, leaning his forehead against hers. He closed his eyes "I am now, pet."
"Goddess, Spike," she sobbed, "I almost lost you too....I would have died. I don't think I could handle loosing both of the loves of my life."
Xander's mouth dropped open. "Love of your life?"
Anya smiled softly. She'd seen the electricity between the witch and the vampire ten years before, and knew they would have ended up together if not for Graham. However, she had been happy about Willow's choice, knowing that at that point in her life, Graham was who she needed to be with.
Spike opened his blue eyes to gaze into Willow's green ones. "Love of your life?" he whispered, a smile forming on his face.
"Love of my life," she repeated.
Spike did something he had wanted to do for almost twelve years, since the moment he kidnapped her and Xander for the love spell. He kissed her.
