Tiger Sharks vs. Greenville Grrrowl
W 4-2
First period started out extremely slow. It seemed as if the team had gotten no practice time at all this week the way they were just standing around. I do have to give credit to Jim Baxter though. Something seemed to have gotten under his skin and wow did that boy ever come alive. He's worked harder than I've seen him work in a long time, and I'm proud of him. Things immediately did not look good when the first goal of the game was scored by a Grrrowl player, but as the period progressed, the Sharks woke everyone up as Copeland and Thibeault ended the period by putting the team on the board making it 2-1.
Not too much to say about the second period except the Sharks looked like the trainers gave them some coffee during the intermission. Not only were they awake, they were busting butt chasing the puck (as it somehow *giving a look* kept getting stolen or lost) and checking everyone in sight. Even Cully, not exactly known for his cross checking, made a couple very impressive hits.
Third period was where all the action was. A total of 3 goals were scored (2 by Tally;1 by Greenville) to add to the excitement of a not-so-gentle scuffle at Tallahassee's end. As Bronsard covered the puck after a shot on goal,a Grrrowl player tried poking at the puck in order to knock it loose. In typical goalie fashion,Christian took offense to this, and proceeded to skate towards the player and start shoving. Out of nowhere Bell from the Grrrowl comes charging in and jumps Bronsard from behind, knocking him down and making Tremblay almost completely lose it;so of course Simon, being the team player he is,goes after Bell. If not for the linesmen,Bell would probably have had a smashed in face. Ever seen a cat drag in a mouse it's been playing with for a while......well there ya go. To my total amazement,Bell only received a total of 4 minutes in the box. I realize all he was doing was sticking up for his teammate, but judging from Tallahassee player's history,he should have at least gotten a 10 for coming in from behind like that. Wasnt it about a week or so ago that Patrick Gingras knocked someone from behind.......and what did he get.....? Hmmm..yeah,ECHL officials are just sooo consistant..right.
