Tiffany lamps and how to maintain them

Home     Product Selection     Contact Us

Tiffany lamps are easy to maintain and look like a million bucks when you take the small amount of time that is required to clean it properly.

Most Tiffany lamps are constructed of stained glass wrapped with a small copper foil around each peice and than lead soldered together by hand.  It is this lead soldering that oxidizes and creates a whitish powder like look along the joints that make the fixture look decayed.

To solve this problem, take a small amount of lemon pledge furniture polish or straight lemon oil and soak a part of a lint free rag.  Rub this into all of the joints of the fixture until they have a dark and slightly shiny look to them.  Once you have accomplished this take a dry rag and rub off the excess cleaner from the joints and glass.  This will have an instantaneous effect on the look of the fixture and will give it a showroom look, you will pleasantly surprised.

In as far as the glass on the item goes, a simple soap and water solution is all that is needed, any stronger solution may actually decay the joints in the fixture and cause the fixture to split over a peiod of time.  In the case of table lamps, soap and water on the base of the lamp will do just fine.

Thats it.  it does not take much effort to keep Tiffany style products factory new.  If you should have any other questions, what so ever, please do not hesitate to contact us at customer service
