Just messin' around. I think there are too many blogs now. I can't effectively maintain one, but it seems every place is offering a free blog for you to use.
It begs the question... how much crap can you fit on the internet? How many teenage wastelands do we need to surf through in order to find the real meaningful garbage. At least garage/yard/rummage sales have converged in one location for easy access; ebay.com. It is an American preference to have options available. But, when is there too many options? I concede to you, oh general public that view blather, that there should be simply a few locations for general knowledge. My space is for the teenagers. Yahoo/AOL/Hotmail for all the email in the world. Ebay.com for all the world of crap.
Also, every department store can keep their own websites, BUT only if they are easy to use. Don't make me jump through fifteen windows just so I can order some christmas pictures. Don't make me go to other sites for other services that, if you walk into the store, are readily available at the front counter.
Maybe it's just part of the genenration X, but we want less hassle with our convenience.
Speaking of inconvenience, how about writing emails in general? As part of the time saving practices I've adopted, I don't reply to any emails that weren't written by the original sender. Therefore, a good many of my emails go unanswered, since the person that sent them merely clicked the 'forward' button without any regard to whether we want that blessed chain mail or joke of the day. Some I read, but only because I realize the sender doesn't expect a response and has forwarded the email as an amusement.
But, the concious effort to not reply to chain mails is the thing. This has painted me as anti-social or uncommunicative with some of my friends. If they can't make the time, then why should I? I mean I really don't think something bad is going to happen to me in the next 48 hours if I don't forward to 10 friends RIGHT AWAY. My unassailed friends are silently thanking me for this right now...
That leads me down a WHOLE 'nother primrose path that I will save for the next time I have absolutely nothing better to do than sit and bitch about the world today.
Good Day!
