Darphus was unique from birth, the unexpected fourth child in a set of quadruplets born to Tiera ShootingMoon, he had powers from the moment of birth. When a horrible curse befell the quads at a few weeks old, Darphus was unaffected while the other three nearly died from it. Then, shortly before his mother remarried, his soon to be step-father JC Tanim discovered that at five months old, tiny Darphus could already mindspeak. At six months he was walking and seven months just plain talking and doing small magic stunts that shocked many that included transformation and flame manipulation. He stayed with his mother and step-father in the Enchanted forest until he was six, then Tiera made the decision to send him to a mage academy in another realm to hone his skills and learn to control them. Was much easier said than done. In the nearly fifteen years spent at the academy he was sent home on suspension more than twenty times for minor mishaps involving minor injuies delt to other students and or teachers. He got them mostly under control by the time he was finally expelled for turning the headmaster into a two-toed-sloth. He was then thrust back into civilization after 15 years of near solitude.
