Born the only son of Sydney McSwain and Adam Michaels, his life began in a state of chaos. His parents were part of a militia group defending small villages from a marauder named Dirk Blooddrake, but it didn’t effect his life too much until he was about the age of two. Then BloodDrake attacked the camp and all were slaughtered except him and his mother, who was left for dead. He himself had be hidden by his mother at the onset of the attack.
After the attack, he and his mother were taken to her adoptive parents house where Sydney recovered from her wounds but not the loss of Adam nor the loss of all she loved but him. So she left him with his grandparents and went off to rediscover herself.
With his grandparents his life was good, lots of cousins to play with, good schools and lots of love. About the time he turned 13 his mother returned for him but he did not wish to go with her, not for lack of love for her but because he wished to finish his schooling. She granted his wishes and they stayed in tight contact through the years.
After school he started work at the local blacksmiths, working 16 hours a day as an apprentice smith. He made good pay and soon was living on his own. At the age of 24 he met a young woman name Chalindra and they were quickly wed. He had everything he ever wanted, but that too would soon change.
After 3 years of marriage, contact with his mother suddenly ended after receiving a note that she had been betrayed romantically and then his wife died suddenly in labor, taking their daughter with her. He was devestated and locked himself in his home for 4 straight months. It was then he decided to go find his mother, he could not stay in that home no longer. So he packed a bag with all the belongings he cared to take, a box of his family photos, then burned his home to the ground. He was out of town before anyone realized what was happening.
