![]() The bronze Katzy was working on had been caked in oil, dirt, and sweat. The fact that the bronzerider had stated that he'd been having a hard time cleaning that area only made her work harder. She smiled as she got the last of the crusty layer of gunk off the bronze, it had taken her nearly 20 minutes but she'd finished. Smirking she turned about. "I got my section done!" she stated proudly and the bronze cooed at her in thanks. The bronze rider looked baffled and walked over to check the area that had alluded him for so long. Here he'd been trying to get that area cleaned for hours and this girl, who had as of yet to stand on the sands for a clutch, had finished the job under 20 minutes! Grunting at being outdone the rider rose. "Well, now you can help out the…" The bronzerider trailed off because of what was happening behind her. Katzy turned as two blues and a bronze settled. She recognized the two blues quickly as Sylth and Fadeth. Smiling she waved energetically at the two riders who stayed upon their blues. "'Lo, W'ryn! D'lom! What bring you to the weyrlake?" she called happily, "Come to get your blues washed by the candidates like the other…" Katzy then trailed off as she recognized the medium sized bronze as being the Aharuth, sire of the clutch on the sands. By the looks on the riders of all the dragon they were positive this time that Lazireth was finally right. There were only a few words said but he candidates didn't even need to hear them as they dashed for the dragons; Katzy took the offered arm of both blue Sylth and his rider W'ryn. Another candidate swung up behind Katzy though she didn't take notice of the person as W'ryn strapped them in within seconds and they were soon gliding over towards the barracks.
Katzy moved from one foot to the other, cursing the hot sands and her having forgotten to put on her sandles. There were several candidates who were still in the act of putting up on their robes and the 15 turn old girl couldn't help but chuckle. Squan was on her shoulder and had giving up his silent act for the time being as he hummed in her ear. Katzy was in awe of the hatching grounds, for some reason they'd never seemed so big in the visits. Lazireth's soprano voice reaches what some would call a shriek and as the note slowly died away into the silence the first egg broke open. A dragonet tumbled out, it almost looked like a dark gold but something in Katzy's mind told her it wasn't even female. Her suspicions were proven as the dragonet head towards the boys and impressed to Chiris who stated that his dragon was a bronze by the name of Nabendith. Four eggs were next to hatch, a green, a blue, and two oppositely colored browns. The brown, followed by the green and the brown impressed. The blue for a moment worried Katzy as he looked at the boys, she could tell already that the blue didn't want any of them, there was something in his rainbow eyes that told her he wouldn't choose any of the boys from over there.
The blue suddenly snorted shaking his head and turning away from the boys. Though the blue had been half way across the sands, to Katzy it had sounded like he was right next to her. Her stomach did a flip and she could almost feel something being planted into her mind; as if a farmercrafter were laying down seeds for the next crop. "Of course you don't want them!" Katzy laughed with joy, "You're too good for the boys, aren't you?" The blue seemed consider this and nodded his wedge shaped head as Katzy knelled to be more at his level, though now she was slightly under his chin, You're right Katzy, that's because I want you. They aren't worthy to fly with me, none but you are. I would let no other impress me, love. Katzy replied mentally, blocking out all other voices for the moment. We will have a grand time, now you'll be able to pull bigger pranks with me Deffenatly, just wait till Tana hears about this! Uh, Katzy, the other females are saying something to you. "What?" Katzy looked about bewildered by what her dragon had told her and the girl next to her nudged her. "His name bluerider, what's his name?" she asked. "Oh!" she then turned to the blue once again, "Now what was your name again?" Balaroth, rider mine. She nodded and stood up straight, grinning from ear to ear. "His name is Balaroth!" I can't believe you forgot my name so quickly Balaroth chided his rider as they walked off the sands ignoring the rest of the hatching. He held his wings high as a few spectators watched them walk by, it was already obvious that Balaroth was proud, especially of his beloved rider, even if she was a girl. "Sorry Bally," she grinned sheepishly, "I didn't mean too, I have a bad memory of names." I know that, I was just giving you a hard time… Something smells good! the blue chuckled in the end starting to trot ahead of Katzy, I'm very hungery, Katzy. That's why we're going this way, love, to get you something to eat… you're making me really hungery too. On her shoulder Squan chirped his hunger as well. The blue dragonet eyed rider and fire lizard and broke out into a run, still holding his wings high as his voice seemed to laugh in his head. I best find the food first or you'll eat twice my share and I'll starve! "Balaroth!" Katzy called braking out into a sprint to catch her brightly colored blue, "Wait up, you don't know where your going! You only hatched five minutes ago…! If even that!" Rider followed her swift moving dragon with a laugh and soon found herself wrong as the blue wheeled around a corner and stopped right next to two of his sisters and three of his brother. Katzy giggled and put her arms around his already strong neck and rubbed his eye ridges. "You goofy hatchling," she smiled planting a kiss on his snout, "I wouldn't eat your food. Squan here might but I feed him a short time ago and he can hunt for himself anyway." Then will you feed me now? asked the blue, his eyes whirling reds and oranges. Katzy nodded and waved for food for her beloved blue. Her lifemate, the blue Balaroth!
