Juventus go to the Tardini
today with an impressive track record to boost their confidence in a difficult
match. The Bianconeri have performed better than any other team in direct
challenges so far and have an impenetrable defence that is the cornerstone
of their strength. They are more determined than ever to keep the top spot
in the League table and are ready to face a tough Parma outfit. The one
o'clock game (local time) on Sunday is all set to send sparks flying.
"This is Juve's hour," writes
Tuttosport. "The Bianconeri will defend their lead in the League and try
to distance themselves from the rest of the Scudetto contenders by winning
further points." The paper goes on to praise Alessandro Del Piero, pointing
out that the Bianconero champion is ready to bombard the opposition's goal
with shot after shot in his attempt to give his side all three points.
According to the paper, he will no longer make do with outstanding assists;
he and Inzaghi are on exactly the same wavelength. The two forwards would
like to achieve a total of 60 goals like they managed two seasons ago.
Corriere dello Sport focuses
on the clash between Crespo and Inzaghi. The paper quotes the Bianconero
forward: "The first position in the League is at stake, so we must be fully
focused. Hernan and I are alike because our only aim is to score."
The match has an extra edge
to it because of Bianconero coach Carlo Ancelotti who has both played for
Parma and trained the squad. "I have many beautiful memories linked with
Parma," he confesses to Gazzetta dello Sport. But adds: "This is not a
crucial game, but it will show us in which direction we are headed."
