The press have plenty to
talk about today following the spectacular match against Udinese yesterday
(1-1), when the Bianconeri clawed back a point despite being a man short.
The Gazzetta dello Sport praises a gritty performance, but Juve managing
director Luciano Moggi claims that the Bianconeri suffered from a few dodgy
refereeing decisions. "There was a penalty on Del Piero, and their goal
was off-side," he asserts. "We were unlucky."
Tuttosport is also impressed
with Juve’s performance. "They were untameable," it says. "This was a great
show of strength. Despite going a goal down (Jorgensen) and Tudor being
sent off for his second bookable offence, Juve battled on to win an important
point." Del Piero is also said to have had a good game, although Tuttosport
agrees with Moggi that the number 10 should have been awarded a penalty
and goes on to praises Del Piero for the assist that led to the goal.
Finally, Ciro Ferrara is
interviewed in the Corriere dello Sport. "We now risk being overtaken by
Lazio," he admits, "but we don’t necessarily have to win all our matches.
This is a very close League indeed. To be in the lead now with 14 matches
still to go doesn’t mean very much."
